Puerto Vallarta on a budget | Is it worth the HYPE? We were curious to know if Puerto Vallarta lives up to being one of the best beach destinations in Mexico. If you are a budget traveler like us, in this video we will show you how to enjoy free things to do in Puerto Vallarta and get cheaper prices on a taxi from the airport to the centro of Puerto Vallarta. We will also show you our accommodation at Hostal Las Chanclas in the city center.
During a hike to el Cerro de la Cruz we share a brief summary of Puerto Vallarta’s history. The malecón is the heart and soul of Puerto Vallarta. Alongside the malecon you will find a handful of statues and art sculptures. At the malecon you can also enjoy a variety of restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
Should Puerto Vallarta be on your list for places to visit? Let’s see what the hype is all about! Join us on this travel vlog as give you ideas on what to do in Puerto Vallarta, show you our hostel in Puerto Vallarta and provide prices so you can have an idea on what you'll spend.

The coolest thing about your journey, IMO, is consciously making the decision and taking action to move to the homeland. I know a lot of people that have returned to México, from the USA, but not by choice. It is extremely cool to know that Mexican Americans are looking for a better life down in Mexico. You’re definitely doing something amazing. Saludos!

I have been to PV a few times but I never ran across anyone selling tuba. But the oysters on the malecon are my favorite! I had an amazing experience there though! I was with my family and we were having fish tacos literally on the beach and a sea turtle comes out of the ocean and literally starts digging a hole in the sand to lay her eggs. She was literally 5 feet away! AMAZING!

First time I went to Mexico, I found incredible air fares to Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, so I flipped a coin and went to Puerto Vallarta. I LOVED it. I've been back to Mexico six times, mostly to beaches, but my last trip was to Guadalajara. You might say Puerto Vallarta started my visiting Mexico habit.

Kevin Jenny, I was there in May, and it was an amazing trip. Puerto Vallarta is so beautiful. Sunsets are breathtaking. Vanessa and I loved driving into town down to the Malecon area for the beach scenery, the restaurants ( which get a bit pricey ) but the Ribeye Tacos at Si Senior were insane, but so was the price... lol. Anyway lots of great tacos in the street vendors back off the Malecon. We actually had fun doing our own Taco Tour. So prettiest beaches are to the south about 6 miles called Las Gemelas Beach. Behind the Playas Gemelas Condominiums. Beaches are beautiful, clear emrald green band blue waters, cool little beach restaurant at the neiboring condo, anyone can dine there and a public stair entrance down the cliff to the south of Playas Gemelas condominiums. Beautiful beaches. Travel further south to an area called Mismaloya, really cool area as well. You can take a boat from the Malecon Pier to Mismaloya. We are going back in May and I think we will focus a lot on activities to the south of PV, like Mismaloya, and night visits into the area along the Malecon for entertainment. Something really cool is a show called Rhythms of the Night . Look that up. Amazing night show in the Amphitheater.. Can’t wait to watch more video’s . Have fun 😊

Hey again. One other place you should checkout is the market at the Rio Quale . You can walk from the Malecon to it on one side abd walk right through over the bridge to the other side of it. Beautiful! You can also take a tour of Casa Kimberly , this is where Richard Burton and Elizabeth Talyor built houses with an ajoining bridge. You probably will not have time for all of this stuff, just wanted to give you some interesting things to choose from. I love this city!

My favorite breakfast spot is at the Palapa Restaurant. It sits right on the beach overlooking the pier at playa de Muertos. I love the classic mexican music there with the sound of the waves and toes in the sand. Also visit my good friend Miguel's little restaurant bar Las Anzuelos. He will make you feel at home and he's also a pretty good cook.

hola! una disculpa por la demora en responderle... pero wow thanks so much for your kind comment! and for sharing our channel with your daughter. Your perspective is very much needed in the comments section of one of our recent videos about Yahritza y Su Esencia... so many people are blaming the parents for not teaching those kids to appreciate their culture but I think it's so unfair to say that. Parents work so hard and compete with American culture when raising their kids...

Hey you two. Your in my old stomping grounds. I know every spot you showed. I absolutly love Tuba my favotite drink! The malecon is new after the hurricain they had a few years ago. You must go to Cafe Oila right accross from the park on Olas Altas in the Romantic zone. Also. if you are there on Saturday there in a market in the park. A bit pricey but worth the look/ Oh yes. You must checkout EL Pitillal. It is totally Mexican. Tell the taxi or Uber to let you off at the church. The park is right there. If you are interested in silver checkout my friend Julio at Plateria Julio 5 de Mayo#60. Tell him Richard sent you. One more thing. Take the bus to Bucerias about an hour north of Vallarta. Great beaches. Get off the bus at the market right on the beach. Thanks for the video!!

Nice video, looks like you are having fun. I always thought Tuba was from Puerto Vallarta but I have learned it was imported in the 1500s from the Philippines, kind of crazy. Anyhow, I miss having roasted shrimp on a stick. It was awesome, you can just sit on the beach and anything you need/want will come to you. Have you gone out to the dead man's beach yet? It is called the most scenic Cemetery in the world because it is right on the beach and the water is super clear. Also, you will find out that a lot of old movies were filmed in Puerto Vallarta, it is free to go walking and explore those sites on your own. Not cheap, but also fun is a trip out to lover's Beach (Playa del Amor), not cheap but you can get the price down a ton if you negotiate.

We have gone to la Playa de Muertos and the story to it is pretty messed up. Movies like sharknado and predator which is soo cool we were thinking of going to Nayarit but it’s out of budget to go to playa de muertos 😥

great video guys! - the kid singing at the kiosko at night had a great great voice, wow. Im super impressed. Just wondering, does youtube allow live songs? just curious how that works. Beautiful video, great job
@EatBailaTravel

right? He was amazing. Live music is risky but if the singer or band performing sounds "different enough" then KZfaq will allow it. It's a risk and we cross our fingers during the upload and copyright check process prior to uploading. Every once in a while we will get a copyright claim, so that requires us to make edits prior to publishing to avoid a strike. 3 strikes and KZfaq kicks you out! 😅

@@EatBailaTravel thanks for your response. 3 strikes? They are not kidding around lol 😂. I like how you show some beautiful areas while also adding in super realistic perspectives as far as budget and your honest opinions. On a side note I havent been to PVR in a while but Sayulita looks as hippie and bohochic as ever. I agree that from PVR it makes for a great day trip. Keep up the great work!

My husband and I are planning a trip this June for our anniversary. We are debating whether or not the all inclusive packages that include all you can eat and drink are worth it, especially when you’re on a budget. What was your average daily spending on food? We’d like to venture out in the city and try different food. How long was your stay?
@EatBailaTravel
@EatBailaTravel 2 жыл бұрын
If you want to venture out to try different food I’d say the all inclusive won’t be for you. You can always get a day pass for a beach club to enjoy the facilities of you really want to. Average daily spending on food for us was about $20 USD for us both. Though some days of course we treated ourselves to a nicer restaurant and it was more. We were in PV for about 3 weeks total.

I moved to PV back in July and without watching what I spend in any real meaningful way my monthly expenses come out to just under $2k usd per month. I spend a good amount on high grade marijuana which actually makes up a pretty large chunk of my overall expenses each month. For most normal people who aren't huge stoners like me and cook at home instead of eating out every meal I could see a budget of $1k usd per month for a single person.

Thanks for this it helps to get an idea on how much life would cost. Puerto Vallarta's cost of living is definitely more expensive compared to other locations but with that said you can also make more money.

I like airbandb, I'm not into resorts, especially those with really cheesy entertainment for tourists, it kind of defeats the purpose of visiting other countries with other cultures if you stay in a sterile environment, hostels are fine I guess, I just remember the smelly feet and the bed bugs from when I was a backpacker, sometimes hostels have individual rooms that are not expensive so you can get the hostel experience meeting other people but not the crowded dorms, but who wants a 50 year old dude in a hostel @@EatBailaTravel
