This is an invalid attempt in my opinion. You have done raids on that character. True M+ PUG challenge looks like this: 1.roll a healer (can be a meta) instead of a DPS (to invalidate the whole 'was I carried / probably / maybe' bullshit) 2. no raids done other than LFR on that character Getting KSM on the most meta of DPS classes with raid gear is zero - I repeatL ZERO - challenge. Sorry, you put effort into this and you sound like a nice dude but, mate, this is far from a challenge. At the very least don't call it a PUGGING challenge. (from your description: I will be playing a role I'm not great with, a class I have no idea how to play and the pure pain of 100% pugging. so you went multiple weeks to a HC raid with that class and pretend to have no idea how to play it... yikes)

@@zerodivided3676 I think you misunderstood what I said in the video. I raid on my main character, a Demon Hunter (as Melee). I started leveling the DK right at the beginning of the video, this character has never been in an organised group which is pretty clear in the video. If this is not the content for you then that's fair, I appreciate your comment nonetheless.

He got carried in *previous* seasons, on 2 different characters, he wanted to try making it alone with just pugs this season and a class he's never played seriously (DK tank). You should be able to. I got KSM in Shadowlands each season and it was a pain with pugs, especially because I don’t do raids. In Dragonflight we have established a very stable mythic + group and we are working our way towards 20s (our best clear so far is a 19) so it’s entirely manageable! Sure it’s more difficult when you are not on voice chat with an organised group, but it can be done, if you are really hardcore about it, make sure you choose your team wisely, I never suggest for people to only go for meta specs, but do look out for people’s rating and ilevel, it can be a good indicator of their overall performance, thus making your runs go a lot smoother. Overall, very nice video, you had a good running commentary throughout the whole thing, and you definitely have the chance to push even higher than 2k rating, I’m getting over 2.2k as we speak, and the runs are definitely getting harder by each level! Keep up the good work mate 👍🏽🙏🏼

Love this! Yes pugging can be rough but you can get some decent groups. Pugging your own key is great, so is adding good players from those groups so never be afraid to do so (though I would always ask if it's okay before adding). The Druid in my M0 group added me after they left :D. A few users in the comments also mentioned not having friends to play with...if you're on EU I stream every Saturday and run keys with the community. They're on my alts so lowish keys but still, it's open to everyone regardless is skill level. Thank you for the kind words, good luck with your keystones and keep making awesome groups!

For me it's the opposite. Since you stick with guild /friends (normally) they less likely to be toxic and raging. With pugs they leave at the smallest mistake For example I went stars +9 with friends and we died over 80 times (I don't know why) but had a big laugh. Not a single pug would have went through this lol

I have moments like this for sure but usually I have the fear of letting friends down. I always put myself down, so hopefully this series gives me more self-confidence! :)

Nice one, smashing it! Yeah I figured out the double grip, it's great for groups that don't know where their interrupts are, some clutch moments :D. I didn't plan the lower keys but the 10's and higher I have been using MDT, though I still got flamed for my route (I follow Dorki's routes, amazing multiclass Tank...). Thanks for the comment!

Yeah I get that and totally agree for the most part, Tank/Healer roles are much easier getting into groups. You get into much higher keys because of this whereas a DPS would require more gear/score. Then you have what's considered "meta". Once the challenge is over I will be doing a poll for which class/role I play for Season 2, Ranged and Healer will be on the list as well as Melee, I'm open to anything. I won't do another Tank one back-to-back :).

Managed to Pug KSM nearly every season on my DK as frost, so its doable :)..... but involves lots of pain lol

I love seeing stuff like this! We all learn differently and at different paces, you could spam dungeons as a DPS to learn the mechanics, then switch role to see a different perspective? There are quite a few guides online, video format and also written. In terms of gearing, I don't cover the "best" way, what I've done in this series is basically what I felt like doing. I don't PvP but you can get some easy stuff from there. There's storms and I could have farmed more rares around Dragonflight to bump ilvl a little faster. Not sure which one you mean, I don't use anything for tracking debuffs other than what you see on the party frames or the default ones in the top right corner.

Solid plan, pushing your own key is the biggest tip I can give to solo players also :)

Funny how our brains are wired, right? I speak like pugs don't effect me, but they do. So this is a bigger challenge than I'm leading you guys to believe. Oh, that's the SharedMedia_Causese addon paired with the Dungeon/Raid WeakAuras from Causese. It's suuuuper helpful for someone like me that can't track everything! In Dungeons/Raids it will tell you to spread, move out & in, interrupt and more. Highly recommend! :)

@@Dillisan I don't run my own keys and join random people. My gf never played WoW retail but wanted us to try playing with her friends who are long time players, otherwise i would have not gotten Dragonflight. We were very behind on gear as we had to level new characters. Didn't cut it for raiding with guild so we duo queued low keys +4-5 and friends helped us with M0. For 2 weeks spammed Shadowmoon 11-13 to get gear and fill vault. After +13 and breaking the 1800-1900 IO and ilvl 395 i started getting invited more. Before that i wouldn't be accepted to shadowmoon 11s by people 400 score below me and 7+ best clear while i had 13++. When not playing a meta class, queue for anything and just try to do your best. You usually do a bit less damage than other classes but i try to offheal, support and also focus cds and abilities on high priority mobs or boss phases so i can make it easier for others. I see a bit of a shift where Evoker healer and protection paladins are very good together and those have been some of my highest keys and smoothest experiences. Sorry for the long read :D

That's awesome Vlad, nice one! Quite easy for some, for others not so much. Many different skill brackets so there are some players that never achieve KSM. For me as a Tank, I consider myself "okay" but far from great, so this will be challenging for me at least :P

@@Dillisan Man that is such a big part of it. I sometimes see guild mates listing keys on dungeon finder that I would be keen to do, but I don't ask them because I don't want to damage their rep. These are people doing 20+ level keys.

Do you spend much time socializing with your guild? I used to be anxious about this as well but started actually hanging out with my guildies, just chatting watching shows and other things outside of wow. Now they have become more like friends to me so much easier to hop into keys with them. Also if you are at a 13 key level, don't ask the people doing 20s unless they specifically stated they will help. Try the other people in the 13-15 range and you'll feel much less pressure to perform.

@@celestielsigh I'm really new to the guild and find it hard, but I'm getting there. Baby steps. I'm friends with one of the officers in the Guild and have known them since Wrath, so I'm fine with them even though I still won't ask him to do keys lol. My main is fine with 20's, I have the gear, my alts are nowhere near though. I'll get there! :)

@@celestielsigh I socialize with the guild a lot. It's not really an issue of being uncomfortable. I was just always raised to not ask for help so it feels weird. Been doing it a bit more lately. I do keys up around the 20 range myself. I just normally pug them. Thanks for the advice.

Use your own key, that is my favourite bit of advice for pushing keys. Easy for some but a lot of player struggle with KSM. Thanks for your comment :)

I managed to hit 2400 before quitting the game. All the runs with pug groups as fury warrior. This was semi easy to get with average skill level. Would have played more but affixes/dungeon balance felt opposite of fun so lost interest.

@@Dillisan I would say that the skill level grows while doing M+ content. Once you have done one dungeon at +12, then 13, 14, 15, 16. The more you do it, the better you become at clearing that same dungeon. Always try to learn new tips from other players and videos. My biggest tip was a custom plater profile that highlighted mobs you need to kick and what you can stun. It made everything so much easier. I also told super simple tactics to minimize the risk of failure. Most pug groups fail for simple things, so it's massive if you can avoid those.

@@Dillisan someone in my guild got ksm with only timed/untimed +13 on all dungeon for both tyran/ fortified so yeah its possible. I got my ksm on my second +15 on week 2 of the season. Imo this season is fcking weird should be like before

Same thing with keystone hero. I’m 100 points above 2500 and i’ve just done 4 20s on fort. Rest 17-19 and on tyran most of my keys are 16-18. For 2500 you probably just need all 17-18s

Yeah you need a lot of patience when signing up to keys with a dps. Pushing your own key (for the most part) is the way to go.

@@Dillisan Would be dope. I'd sub. I just know I have had to apply to about 40 keys before i ever get into a group. Even now at 405 ilvl and 2300 i have to apply to about 20-30 +16 keys before i get an invite. And somehow running my own key was almost always a hot mess. Seems that the tanks who were doing like you did, but bad at it, always land in your key and it gets scuffed.
