This Puig Windscreen installation for the 2020 Husqvarna 701 Enduro LR with aluminum handguards requires modification to preserves the OEM front brake cable set up. The Husky 701 Enduro LR is a great go anywhere bike but it needs wind protection out on the highway to help it compete with bigger adventure bikes . The Puig Windscreen is the right size to manage the wind while staying out of your way as you negotiate technical off-road terrain. But the manufacturers recommended installation method is not compatible with the Husky 701 when it's equipped with aluminum handguards. This installation of the Puig Windscreen for the Husqvarna 701 Enduro LR creates the needed clearance to avoid interference from the handguards while providing better airflow at speed. This Puig Windscreen is a necessary upgrade that will help turn this 2020 Husqvarna 701 enduro LR into what could be the ultimate adventure bike without going full blown Rally conversion. The goal here is to build a bike that can go anywhere and do anything...better than my GS or other 400-500 pound adventure bikes that are so popular these days. ...Well at least that's the goal of the 30 plus modifications that are planned for this Husky 701 enduro.

Thanks for vid. I just installed mine and followed you install process. I did plasti dip the spacers nuts and bolts white to match the bike.

Thanks! So far I really like the performance of this windscreen up to about 65 miles per hour (105kms). I also appreciate that it is not too tall when I am off-road. But, I would prefer a little more protection when I am traveling at 70 or 75 miles per hour (115-120kms). So, I will be looking for a windscreen extender / visor to complete my wind protection for long trips.

With the angle of the windshield is it to close to you? I want to add it to get my phone (for GPS) higher in a better sight line but protect the phone. I am thinking about bigger spacers inthe top holes to push it up straighter and get it away from me a little to be abke to see the phone eisier. Wondering if that is an issue.

Not an issue at all there is plenty of distance to the bars to run whatever you need behind this windscreen. Looks like a Sami solution for brake hose routing. How has this brake hose position worked for you mate? Also is the dual5 headlight all it’s cracked up to be?

Thanks for your question, the brake hose routing works well, I have 3300 miles on it so far with no issues. It does rub a little on the back of the windscreen because of the yellow cable guide underneath the headlight… I’m thinking of modifying that cable guide… stay tuned for that. As for the headlight, it works great so far, no issues whatsoever. The low beam is highly visible day or night, and the high beam is very effective for seeing and avoiding wild life on dark stretches of road at night…saved me from a close call with a deer!

I like it because it’s a lot brighter than the stock headlight plus I still have high and low beam from my OEM thumb switch.

Side Note: for the 2021 model the front brake cable is now routed behind the shroud making windscreen install simple.

Thanks for the heads up...it does look tidier now. Although, it will be interesting to see if the windscreen rubs on the aluminum hand guards when mounted directly on the headlight shroud. And with a few hundred miles under my belt, I have to say the airflow is smooth with the spaced off set up...no buffeting that I can detect. It just needs a little more wind protection at speeds north of 65 mph. Which is why I will be adding an adjustable visor/extension to top off this set up.

Thanks for the video. I bought a 2020 701 a week ago and the original windshield is a joke. I would love to know how the PUIG windshield functions at a speed of 100 up to160 kmh. In addition, I am looking for a suitable solution for alternative headlight and a steady tall mount for the mobile phone behind the windshield. not the expensive ones with the navigation tower -short gas and brakes cables :) -Jesus.

I will be posting the Dual 5 LED headlight video in two weeks...it is way better than stock and it hooks into the stock wiring. As for the phone mount I will be adding the RAM Mounts Universal X-Grip Large Phone Mount/Phablet Cradle because I use an iPhone 12 pro max to run the Rever app for route tracking. It has performed flawlessly on my 850GS. I'm with you on avoiding the extra effort that the tower requires...I'm hoping to end up with a set up that is closer to stock but still lets me go anywhere and do anything. I will post an update on the windscreen once I get this beast out on the highway. ...gonna be fun :)
