It’s interesting how different the strength needed to pull a heavy weight bow differs from gym strength

Only two ppl are known to be able to draw a 200lb Warbow. Joe Gibbs and Mark Stretton. 200lbs is obviously a monster bow but to open heavy bows you have to use a different technique that makes it easier to draw heavy. I am 45, 5”8 and 155lb (70kg) and draw a 113@28” bow on my channel. (You can check in case you think I am talking crap) Yes, it takes strength but the correct technique helps a lot for heavy bows.
@MReiska2 ай бұрын
Stretton has not been able to pull bows past 150lb in over 15 years. He only pulled 200lb for the 2004 Quinnes record once and that basically broke him. There are 3 other guys training with 180-195lb bows in UK nut to Joe is currently the only man with proof.

I hate to say it but you are using the totally incorrect for to try and pull the bow. It should be held way above the shoulders and drawn down using the larger back muscles. Look it up in old historic texts or even on KZfaq. There is a smaller Asian guy that's shoots old school 160-180 war bows. It's all form at this poundage
