My well pump has been giving me problems for a while. It finally died so it was time to pull out the old dead pump and replace it along with everything else. #stoutcustom #homestead #pump

You are the Man, I was just quoted 6800 bucks for pump service to pull mine. I think with a few buddies I can now do it myself. Thanks for the great video!!! God bless !

Hey John. Glad the video helped. It’s a bit of a pain but it can be done. Just take it slow and be careful. Lots of things that can go wrong. Thank you and thanks for watching!

Came in to see how you've pulled it off, and learned a tip or two, so yeah wish me luck and thanks for sharing Sir. God bless 🙏 I'm tempted to pull a One Hundred Fifty ' pump, schedule 40 pipe 😢 LoL

Had to do that a couple of times. Well near 600' ! When you finish you should also build an enclosure or something around it to protect from elements and freezing weather.

This was 120’. I would hate to do 600. It definitely needs to be enclosed. That’s been on the list for a while but with all the new parts n pieces I think it’s time. There’s about 200ft of the pipe that feeds the house laying on the ground that needs to be buried too. Not sure why they left that exposed either but I’ll take care of that while I’m at it. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!

@@StoutCustom I had to get a well pump service truck and help with mine. He mentioned...and I forgot...some type of special tape he used to tape the pump electrical wire to the pipe else it would chaff and rub the insulation after awhile. He would stop and tape the wire about every 50' - 100' ft.?

@@rc648 I noticed there was a electrical style tape used on mine but it had a label on it or a number maybe. I meant to take a picture and look it up to see if it was a special tape. I’ll check it out n see

Io avrei assicurato la pompa sommersa ad un tubo in polietilene. Sembra che l'acqua sia corrosiva laggiù. Vedo molta ruggine😮 Ad ogni modo, gran bel lavoro.

The author said he did not know how deep the well was. What?? Take your big wide hand and "bop" the top of the casing. This sends a sound wave down the well, to the surface of the water, which it bounces off of then up to the open end of the pipe where the sound wave bounces off and back to the bottom of the well. You'll will here a BOP, Bop, bop, with the time between bops being proportional to the depth of the well. I used my laptop to record the sound, display it graphically and determine from the timing between bops that my well was 54' from the top of the casing to the surface of the water.

I had a well guy tell me once to drop a rock and count til I hear it plop. Don’t remember the exact details of the equation but I remember it worked pretty accurately for static water level. Overall depth of that one was 320 foot I’m glad this one wasn’t that deep. Thanks for watching!

Dang, you got a tractor. You're cheatin' man! I got to pull my own with no equipment. I'm making 2 clamps and I'm going to jack it up and move the clamps. Mine is galvanized but only 35 feet deep. Not kidding myself, it's going to be full of water and very heavy for one guy.

It’s going to be a chore for sure. Take it slow and be safe. It can be a bit sketchy. Migh keep a rope tied to it as you go incase it gets away from you. Good luck and thanks for watching!

@@StoutCustom Taking three 2 x 4's 18 inches long, cutting one in half and spacing it to leave a hole in the middle just big enough for the `1 inch pipe Bolting them all together. Attaching a large pipe clamp to the pipe above that., so it can't slide through the hole in the 2 x 4's, which I'll lay across the top of the well casing. Also wrapping a rope around the pipe. Best boy scout knot :). When I get 12 feet high, I'll cut the pipe and repeat. At some point I should just be able to pull it out. Starting in about an hour. And of course, I need luck... all I can get! Ain't paying no well guy $2500 to change out my pump. Basically, I'm just jacking it up until I get to where I can pull.

Try pulling 25 20ft sections (500 ft) out of 5” well casing, pump and big wire out of a hole……takes a small Crain on a 1-1/2 ton truck.
