I’m curious if this condition can contribute to further lung disease etc? My brother in law was diagnosed several years ago, and I don’t know how closely he was being monitored for progression. However a year and a half ago he was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung cancer, it had spread extensively and he passed in just a couple of months! I’m still baffled how doctors could miss an advanced condition as such, and only discover at the last minute! He had significant weight loss leading up to it, and my sister was concerned. But he blew it off to the fact, he was trying to lose weight (he needed to).
