Nope. NS has a super short stroke engine based on Duke 200. That engine is designed to redline and develop power at very high rpms. In short, Duke/NS engine was born as a race engine. Whereas Pulsar 250 has a conventional square engine (bore = stroke) which is designed for low end torque and rideability. Even with 4 valves and 6th gear, it wont give the same kind of fun as NS. Even wih the current 2 valve - 5 gear configuration, the N250 out performs NS200 in outright acceleration. But that doesn't mean it's the more fun bike. NS is way more satisfying if you like to ride hard, revv match downshift, etc.

@@Liberal45 No it won't. By that logic 4v bikes like Apache 200 and Xpulse 4v should have great top end, but both of them are dead at high rpms. Having 4 valve setup only aids in better breathing and quick revving. For achieving strong top end power, the engine should either be very oversquare (bore much bigger than stroke) or it should have some kind if variable valve timing and lift tech (like VVA in R15). And high rpms means extreme heating, so it should also have liquid cooling to prevent power loss due to heat. Just look at all the bikes that offer strong top end Dukes, NS/RS', XMR, CBR250R all have liquid cooled short stroke engines. While R15 is the only square engined bike (bore = stroke) with strong top end, thanks to VVA.

@@s2tp97 okey can you explain, rtr2004v has stroke length of 57.8mm meanwhile ns200 has a stroke length of 49mm then why does the ns200 still make the more torque than the rtr2004v which has a longer stroke length??
