The Puma ForeverRun Nitro is a cushioned shoe that uses a dual-density Nitro midsole to create a stable ride, with a firmer rim of foam surrounding a softer core. It’s pretty light for its size, and could be a solid, stable daily training option for those who like a lot of cushioning. Run Testers Mike and Nick have been out for their first run in the shoe ahead of its launch, here’s what they thought.

I have two pairs. Absolutely superb shoe. Just that little hint of stability and very comfortable. Great for easy long runs. Prefer them over my Hoka Arahis that I’ve loved for years.

My only real criticism here is that I've started looking at reviews for stability type shoes (due to an injury that might be exacerbated by overpronation) and the vast majority of people reviewing them don't really need them which they are upfront about. I personally feel the reviews are potentially not doing the shoes any sort of justice.... Most reviews are pretty much along the lines of yeah the shoes are alright but subconsciously the comparisons are probably against neutral shoes of which there are so many options... I think Laura is the only one of the RunTesters that uses/needs stability? It would be good to try and get more from her when these shoes come out or perhaps recruit a 2nd person that uses stability shoes regularly to help add more value in these discussions 👍

I am also recovering from an injury (ACL), what running shoes would you recommend? I am looking for cushioning and stability

How does this compare to Saucony Tempus?

How is the cushion and bounce against the velocity nitro 2?

Would it be fair to say this would be the stability version of the Magnify Nitro? Similar to how the Vongo is the stability version of the 1080 line in New Balance?

Great review, but totally disagree with the ride compared to Tempus. I’ve done an A/B run with Tempus and Forever Run Nitro and the Tempus feels flat in comparison.

I currently own Tempus and tempted to get Forever Run Nitro as well. Did you notice any time improvement in Forever Run Nitro? do you fell like you can do long runs in Puma more than in Tempus? Rocker usually does help when you are tired and just want to give up.

Is this similar to Brooks Glycerin 20?

Do these run a little long? I have the velocity nitro and they do run a little long. What about the Deviate Nitro 2?

so is this closer to Tempus or to Kayano?

Tempus is designed for faster paces and racing from 1/2 to full marathons. This Puma is probably closer to the kayano for recovery and easy miles

Did you notice the metatarsal pads in the insoles?

Not on the run really, you can see and feel them on the insole, big bump, but didn't really affect me (Nick) during runs. I'll get some shots of them into the full review

Excluding the stability features it looks like a similar offering to the Triumph 20 🤔

We got a couple in our store, and the two feel quite different to me. This one is not as forgiving or as bouncy, but it's not harsh by any means. The heel of the Triumph is also a narrower base of support, so it can be a little wobbly for heavy heel strikers.

Why they make it so ugly though. The Velocity Nitro 2 such a nice looking shoe, especially in the first mile. This is a mess.

@@Hurts4MVP1 nah, this looks like it’s designed by a 10yr old kid that loves bright colours and random splashes thrown on. Like the design team just didn’t stop with first attempt. I know let’s add a random black square on the back. I know let’s make the outsole like a play park design. I know let’s put some leopard print kind of pattern on the upper. Someone needed to tell them to stop with a nice simple clean design.
