The LONG summary of the PMV is this. Strap yourselves in, TSH veterans AND newcomers. The PMV starts off with Romulus glaring at young Maxwell, and Strike defending his son and snapping at Romulus. Romulus and Strike are both part of a clowder of cats that coexist together, and the group tends to view Strike as their “leader”, although he wasn’t officially chosen. They look up to him because he heroically defended his clowder from a pack of wild dogs, losing his arm and gaining a facial scar in the process. However, a subgroup within Strike’s pride would rather have Romulus as a leader (seen in the beginning of the PMV), causing a tense divide between two groups within the clowder. Maxwell does not view his father as someone who is strong. Strike tends to be incredibly passive and steers away from conflict. He is incredibly affectionate and loves to spend time with his mate (Lillia) and his children (Rose and Maxwell), all to Maxwell’s disgust. Maxwell views Romulus as the stronger leader, and Romulus senses this, and beckons Maxwell to meet him in the woods for a proposition. Romulus offers Maxwell a deal; help him kill Strike and he automatically gets bumped to second in command, and eventually king when Romulus passes. Reluctant at first, young and ambitious Maxwell agrees, and the duo is formed. Maxwell is told to create tension in the clowder to cause a fight. Romulus will use this fight to eliminate Strike once and for all. Several months pass and a fellow clowder member teases Maxwell for something unrelated. Maxwell uses this opportunity to cause an uprising, and murders the cat in cold blood. Then, as predicted, a large fight begins between Strike’s group and Romulus’ group. Strike arrives in shock about what his clowder has come to. As Strike is distracted by the fighting, Romulus sneaks behind him and murders him in front of the clowder, declaring himself as leader of his new group; The Darks, for their dark hearts and harsh outlook. Romulus tells the remaining members of Strike’s group to either join him, or die. Rose and Lillia are horrified at the sight of Strike’s death and Maxwell’s betrayal, and they both evacuate the scene in tears. Maxwell watches the group leave with a smile on his face, as he has reached a level of power he hasn’t obtained before. About a year passes and the Dark kingdom is established. Maxwell and Romulus look down upon their followers who bow to them. Rose watches her brother Maxwell with utter disgust that he has aligned himself with the cat who murdered their father. She comes to the conclusion that vengeance must be taken, and Romulus must die. Rose plans a solo ambush a short time later. She waits for Romulus to go on an evening stroll, and plots to kill the cat who corrupted her brother and killed her dad. Angrily, she leaps down and tries to attack Romulus, but Romulus is older, wiser, and smarter than Rose and has already noticed her presence. He swings around and smacks Rose in the face, sending her flying backward and smashing her head against the rocks. Disoriented, Rose tries to focus on Romulus, but Romulus has already leaped forward in a killing strike. Rose braces for his attack, but defensively kicks him back, which causes him to fall off the edge of the cliff. Romulus smashes and breaks his jaw, as well as his skull on the rocks, eventually crashing into the river below and bleeds out. Rose notices a bushel of roses at the edge of the cliffside and decides to take one and place it upon Romulus’ corpse, marking her kill as her own for Dark soldiers to eventually find.

I love how Rose dodged a bullet by kicking Romulus and killing him, albeit accidentally and unconsciously. She would’ve been killed if she haven’t thrown him off the side and into the rocks, very lucky indeed :,)

I love how things before the series now don’t seem as black and white! The lights were terrified of Romulus and were probably too afraid to go through with a real assassination. Rose wasn’t, and she took action to end a tyrant. I like a character like that, one that doesn’t like violence but doesn’t hesitate to do what’s right, even if they need to fight, But really good job!

Roses are red, Violets are blue, *You killed Rose's father and now she kills you. c:* I like the idea of Rose placing a rose on top of Romulus after she kills him, it reminds me of Kissing Kate Barlow from the book/movie called ''Holes'' where if she killed a man she left a kiss to mark her kill.

I absolutely LOVE The Stolen Hope. I found the series a few months ago and binged almost every episode in one night. This PMV has made me love even more characters and want to rewatch everything again. I love how stunning this is (all your animations are) and this remix is sooo good, it goes perfect with Maxwell’s backstory. If you choose to animate a new series based on the creation of the Darks in the future, I would love to voice a raspy female cat.

Maxwell looks gorgeous with blue eyes. Hes one of my favorite characters. I especially loved when we saw him in heaven at the end of the finale💙

I love the idea of characters in stories marking other people that they murdered with something! It's usually just something in their name or something that they're well known for, but sometimes it can reach as far as being aimed at the victims themselves or why they killed them.

I just started watching he reboots and the improvement is just- Man I cant stop watching episode 1, the one made 7 years ago, and the reboot now! Its also really fun to learn more information about the backstory and not only what the episodes show us now. I really like your work!! If you keep this up, you'll get 50k subs in less than 6 months! You just need to not stop animating - drawing, because if you do, a little break could take you months back, from what I experienced about 5 years ago. That's all I had to say!

I liked the story of TSH, but it could have been way better. My critiques are that the lore seemed like it was there, but not properly explained. It also seemed to black and white for my liking. I think a reboot, taking the original idea and applying what you’ve learned to improve on it, would be amazing and I’d love to see it! Oh and your art is gorgeous btw!
