As a 75 year old ( English ) Rock / Fusion Jazz / Funk/ World music fan, i have to say that i am totally blown away by these guys originality & virtuosity, i'm guessing Chris Thiele does a lot of the writing, ( only because he seems to be the most eccentric of the group ) anyway i shall now be diving deep into the Punch Bros. rabbit hole & will no doubt have lots of fun discovering the rest of their work. ( P.S. also love Brittany Haas & Hawktail ) Long live Americana music & a big shout out to Whitney Webb.....

To me, the best part of this concert, by far, is a section that lasts less than two minutes in the middle of "It's Part of the Plan". Noam and Chris perform two solos, and OH MY GOD, the virtuosism is OVERWHELMING! Both solos are super short. One wishes they would go on and on, like in a jazz improv session, but no, it's just a taste of what they both are capable of doing, and they leave you salivating and wanting more. Again, the virtuosism in this band is unparalleled. I had the pleasure of seeing them in Dallas, and I can only say I'm so happy Chris decided to visit our planet.

He was dressed as a chicken and Vince Herman kept calling him "chicken boy" all night. I was super close to the stage and could have sworn he was close to tears. @hst116tr
@hst116tr 5 жыл бұрын
In a pre-show performance before their NYC performance, someone asked them about "This Girl" and why they had seemingly changed it up. Chris pondered it for a moment and in their half-sentence way of communicating, Gabe reminded him they had had a long day in the studio and things were just not gelling that day. So as something of musical palate cleanser, they ripped through some high speed bluegrass piece then recorded the "Who's Feeling Young Now?" version in one take. It was something they didn't typically do and ended up really liking it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ec9nmrpjmNnYiok.html Chris admitted it was awfully fast on the album and the band generally nodding in agreement. To underscore that, Paul Kowart who generally keeps his expressions in a rear pocket, mocking drooped in exhaustion over his bass as Chris said that. I will say I appreciated the the tension, anxiety, energy, humorous desperation mixed in with the album version, but agree this live version has beautifully filled out. It's some true-ass genius that can bring two equally enchanting versions of the same song to us.

I saw these bros at ROMP sometime in 2011. I have to say they were great then & they just keep getting better. I don’t know if there’s ever perfection, but to me these guys come close.

Noticing Chris Edridge's guitar strap not fully over the button is stressing me out. LOL. Fantastic job as usual gentlemen.
