The shoulder rub is there for when you hit the second round it actually refills your health meter a bit.

Holding select at the beginning of a round can be used for speed running can getting certain fighters to do certain attacks based on your power.

I've seen speedrunners use the half-health thing before. Some of the more advanced boxer's AI goes on different paths due to the health of the player, I believe, especially Sandman. ESPECIALLY Sandman. His AI is just so well written it's insane, and frustrating to go through.

Speaking of cheating we used to have a lot of fun playing with Game Genie & putting in messed up codes, not necessarily in Punchout but I remember playing around on Street Fighter 2 on SNES for hours.

Yo Jay the reason your health depleted is cause any time you start the match at full health pretty much just working the cheat backwards rather then giving when you needed it it just took away not sure if it's considered a bug

The half-health start is actually used in speedrunning Mr. Sandman (as it requires being knocked down for the speedrun strategy to work.) Just thought I'd tell you.

The reason why Super Macho Man has so many codes, it's because everytime you beat someone, your records will change and the continue code will do it too. In the case of Super Macho Man, you instantly get a new code after the fight, and this one will change every time you score a new record after losing against Mike Tyson/ Mr Dream. Example: I have a record of 13 - 0 > I win against Macho > I get a new code with the record set to 14 - 0 (because of the previous fight) > I lose against Mike > Game Over > If I continue, the game will start from the Macho fight but with the same 14 - 0 record. The fact that the loss against Mike will not be counted, is probably due to the fact that in the original Famicom Punch Out there were no Mike. So the game might act like you have actually finished the game.

After the match you would have either won or lost. It's for in-between rounds.

Question for Another World Circuit, Will this work on the Wii Virtual Console version of Mike Tyson's punch out? I actually have a Mike Tyson's version of VC Punch out on the Wii, since only MD's Punch out was on the Wii's VC. Thanks!

That Another World Circuit code never worked for me and my neighbor when we saw it in the latest Nintendo Power at the time. We must have tried it about 10 times and could never get it to work.

dude there was a trick i cant find anymore. you could press an attack when ONE certain viewer raised his arms to onehit the enemy or KO him. wasnt it punch out?

You can knock some people down in one hit like glass Joe by punching his face right before his special attack and he does raise his arm, also you can knock bald bull down if you hit him in the stomach once, right as he is charging you just before he hits you

Some mat he's you only press select once and you get more energy, some you need to continue tapping select or you'll only get a sliver more stamina

It only seems like it works that way sometimes. Once is enough and it’s just absolutely random as to how to how much it gives you, doing it more than once does nothing at all

Yeah don't use Select in the first round. It will raise your health in the 2nd or 3rd round but it only works once.

First. Beat piston in the title bout then watch the training with doc scene until it says to press start. Then reset the game and then you can enter it, if a password is already there, replace it with mike Tyson code

Aaron Sandage that’s because you have a newer version of the game. Nintendo didn’t renew the contract with Mike Tyson and replaced him with Mr. Dream

Nintendo didn't renew the contract with Mike Tyson, so the newer versions of the game have Mr. Dream instead of Mike Tyson. Their gameplay is exactly the same though
