Amy provides lots of tips and tricks along the way as she punches her way through the Pear Project.
The Pear project pattern is available as a free download at www.amyoxford....
It is also available for purchase as a pattern on monk's cloth, or as a complete kit with the pattern on monk's cloth and all the yarn you'll need (punch needle and frame not included).
Thanks for watching!

Love to see this tutorial and see all the comments from the other ladies that also enjoy these crafts, I absolutely love fabric crafts, including sewing and knitting. I want to get started with this new craft as soon as I get time. I will study this tutorial first though before I start a project because this seems to be really important to learn all the dos and don'ts.

This is so helpful. I got a kit and it didn't tell me any of this. My loops were uneven and I didn't count the stitches so I have big gaps. Also I think the kit was to hard for a beginner. It's little flowers but it's made with yarn so it's small details with big yarn. I'm definitely trying this pattern instead. Thank you so much

I know NOTHING about needle punch. I cant figure out how the stitches remain on the other side. How can you walk on it without pulllng out the stitches. My sewing machine locks the stitches with the bobbin thread. In crochet the threads are actually knotting themselves. It seems like the first time my cat ran on it it would be destroyed. What is the white elastised cloth over the frame? What is its purpose? What is double (?) monkscloth?
@maxina1958
@maxina1958 5 ай бұрын
The frame has jagged teeth around the edge, to grip the cloth very tightly. The cover is to protect the user. The stitches do not fall out because they make the fabric very tight and taut, preventing the loops from falling out. As all the tails are on the front, they cannot be accidentally pulled from behind (where they would come out). I have just machine washed a rug I made from acrylic yarn, over 15 years ago, and I spun it on a 1600 spin. It came out almost dry and with just a few loose threads! These things are very sturdy 😊

I've never seen this before. What is to keep the whole thing from unraveling if anything snags a loop ? Does the needle create a stitch with each insertion? Or does it just leave a loop? Very beautiful.
