Ingredients
(to boil the dal)
1 cup sabut moth dal/mat beans, soaked in water for 4 hours & water drained out
6 cups of water
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
(to make the dal)
4-5 tbsp desi ghee/clarified butter
1/4 tsp heeng/asafoetida powder
1/2 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
7-8 cloves of garlic, grated or paste
1 chopped green chilli
1 medium-sized onion, chopped small
2 medium-sized tomatoes, pureed
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 tbsp chopped hara dhania/cilantro
