Punk and Xiaohai's rivalry was the best thing about this season of SFL. Xiaohai is THE KOF god of all time, and although he's not quite as good at Street Fighter, man does he ever bring the entertainment whenever he plays Street Fighter. If he dedicated himself solely to SF6, he could become Top 10 in the world no question. His ability to play multiple characters at a very high level would mean he could choose match-ups at will. The way he made Punk eat humble pie here by rinsing him in this set four straight rounds was the undispited highlight of the season. That pop-off was deserved! ULTRA HYPE! This is what fighting games are all about - two absolute legends pushing each other to the limit and even getting personal at times. Anime stuff, man.

Xiao Hai had some absolute peaks in sf4 and sf5. Like he was probably top 5 at those peaks. I just think that he could be a bit inconsistent at times, but he's still a top sf player and qualified for Capcom cup a few times

Punk is an amazing player, but for being 25 years old it's time for him to mature. The reason he got so mad about Xiaohai asking him if he's nervous imo is because Punk DOES get nervous and it clearly debilitates him from playing his best. We've seen it time and time again with the constant 2nd place performances, with Evo vs Tokido, just with how mad he gets and how he goes a little needlessly too far trashing people he's playing against. The reason dude got mad is because dude got triggered. He needs to grow up and when that shit doesn't get to him is when he'll be winning more.

Xiao Hai has 3 Evo championships under his belt and also beaten Tokido in an Evo final in KOF. Finals is nothing to be nervous about. His footsies are better than Punk, it's just the hit confirms are missing and more aggression is needed for him to get even better in SF in this version.

Saying that he is a KOF champ is a weak argument/statement though since it means little to SF. Plus there are quite a few players in SFL are also top KOF players: Xian, Reynald, NL, and Oilking. Xiaohai got his W clean in SFL and that’s all matters. There is no need to use his KOF achievements to downplay Punk.

I hope Punk didn't cry after his defeat like he did at EVO against Tokido. It would be more humiliating. Let's be fair. Punk is a good player. However he has not reached half of the championships won by Xiaohai (whether minor championships or even EVOs). It was Punk's obligation to never lose to Xiaohai, because Punk ONLY PLAYS SF. Xiaohai plays KOF, SF and GG. I'm talking about dedicating time to just one game. This makes Xiaohai much better than Punk. Punk talks to much but rarely wins any championships.

It is easy to trash talk after a W, but much harder to be cocky before the game, and stay smiling after it. It is the lesson Punk needs to learn. He is still young and very talent, I'm pretty sure he will get to his era eventually.
