Can't really define which rock genre does Dreamcatcher's songs fit into, they are doing their own thing (I am a rock fan although I must say I still have lots to discover within the genre)

I think because jyp favoured the girl groups more they did the same with skz people started to notice them when gods menu came out before that people called them a flop group

I think it’s because their lyrics are a bit ehh- like their debut song. The instruments and vocals and visuals were great but the lyrics and cringe concept sort of ruined it for me. Also don’t get me started on the laughs in the song… I honestly prefer strawberry cake. Just my personal opinion tho…

@@jvliawo a lot of groups have pretty cringe lyrics and concepts tbh and most of them get a lot of attention. I don't think that's the problem with xdinary heroes, i think their music is unique and too niche for the general public.

Xdinary Heroes at least has the advantage that they are in jyp and had day6 before them. They already get more attention then allot of the other bands in the industry.

It was the opposite for me lol. I first got into k-rock by listening to day6 and ft island, and I loved it. However, I felt I needed heavier rock songs so I got into jrock. I love both so much, they are v different.

I agree sm, the creator of this video should def make a part two with truly rock sound. No hate to these songs(I listen to a lot of them) but I feel they are more pop orientated. Obviously though, because they are pop groups who specialize in pop making “rock” songs.

Right! It was weird not to see them here as they were basically the root of k rock (especially ft island). I would’ve liked to see cherry filter and loveholic too! Also as a day6 stan, I was disappointed not to see day6’s sweet chaos, I wait, I need somebody, or any other song really.

@@jvliawo Yes exactly!! I feel like nowadays, the "classics" are easily forgotten by the newer gens. They have amazing music too, but there's just so much more in kpop and it would've been amazing to see them.

I think it's because the rose and day6's music is a soft kind of rock and it doesn't sound like metal rock For xdinary, it's not metal rock neither but im not sure of the genre

Because those are more pop/soft rock and not metal. It is also based around kpop which has a specific sound. Compare it to like Radiohead or nirvana and there’s a notable difference.

those are light rock / pop rock songs who are different from regular rock who are different from hard rock/metal who are also different than pop punk. A lot of people confuse pop punk with light rock. Day6 does light rock, while songs like Tomboy is more pop punk

It’s not weird at all, actually. Metal is a very specific type of genre, and none of the songs you mentioned (nor any in this video) would fall under that category. Personally, I like most types of rock - however metal, especially very heavy metal, is not one I’m a huge fan of.

you would be correct! a lot of people just don't know the difference between rock, light rock, metal, and punk. Most of those examples aren't even punk, but light rock. A pop punk record would be something like Jhopes new album.
