We’re a bit older at 55 and 65, and it’s nice to see coverage of a lot of old school bands by a young person. And I’ve never heard anyone talk about RKL aside from Fat Mike! Hey there! I had a great time in PRB and also my first time in Vegas. I had a very similar festival experience as yours, but with a few differences, and I think that is what's so cool about this fest, there were parties everywhere to choose from. So, I flew from my country Guatemala very early in the morning on Friday, customs did not want to let me in because they did not believe I was going to a music festival, I had to show them my tickets and my hotel reservations in Downtown Grand, so I did get to culturize the cops in LAX, and they did let me in and put me on the next flight to Vegas. After I hit Vegas the first place I visited was Area 15 for the Omega Mart, I recommed this crazy place. I had bought tickets to Reverend Horton Heag in advance, I was so excited to see them live, for me it was a dream, like seeing Johnny Cash live, it was in the hotel pool (Citrus Pool Deck), I also had a blast seeing this band called The Luxuries, they rocked. Since I was staying at the hotel I had a wtistband to come earlier to the pool shows, I saw The Provos who played an amazing celtic punk, Booze and Glory and Lion's Law. Then I headed to the festival but I made a few mistakes like wearing jeans and not shorts, I was roasting, I don't know how Skinheads do it to TBH, I had to buy a tank top at the festival and drink a lot lf water. The first band I saw was Dee Skusting & The Rodents, very powerful band. Then I saw Suzi Moon from a distance, since it was too hot I had to be buying myself some ice creams, went to see some merch and then I was face to face with my current musical obsession, this band calles Surfbort which totally kicked ass. For the record, I am a punker from the birth of punk. Yup, I got into punk at the end of the 70s. I'm about to turn 66 and I'm still going to punk shows. I went to PRB for the first time last year and will go again this year. I also live in Seattle. I agree about the water. I had two bottles with me and was refilling both almost every hour. I've endured multiple knee surgeries so I spent quite a bit of time in the disabled section. I was also covering the event for a local blog and got a ton of photos. I watched the Casualties from the disabled area but I have a 400mm lens and the photos turned out pretty good. I've seen the Casualties a couple times and have better photos. I also agree about the heat. For that reason it would have been better if the water was cold. I attended a festival in 2018 in So. Cal called Back to the Beach and this fest was run better than that one. That one had no water at all. Because I was press I could go in and out and there was a water fountain right outside one of the gates. This year I'm staying closer to the event. Last year I was at the Strat, which was maybe a little more than a mile away. I walked back one night, but after being on my feet most the day and having bad knees, I couldn't do this much. Uber and Lyft kept stiffing me on rides and I had to take the bus back on the last day. No one gives up their seat on Vegas buses even though I use a cane. Here's my review of the first day. The second and third days are right below this. When they ran out of water the first day I went back to my hotel. Being from Seattle there was no way I could survive the last two bands with no water. I missed the Slackers & Fishbone & Bad Religion but I've seen those bands multiple times so it was no big deal. Years ago, I was Production assistant for the Ink N Iron festival in Long Beach CA.. As we became the largest DIY festival, no sponsors or cooperate funding.. Unless you consider free Monster energy drinks, ... The last couple of years I worked, We got informed by a few Old school Local Punk's.. Steve Soto "RIP" and Mike Ness.. Social Distortion was told, play our festival and they would lose the week long gig at the House of Blues.. Lots of bands had to sign a contract to only play P.R.B .. so we could only get bigger bands who could tell them F off .. S.T, Buzzcocks, Iggy , X, Etc.. If you understand what I'm saying.. So we couldn't book Bands like, Riverboat Gamblers, Bad Religion, Etc... Straight up blackmailed by G, Voice..

I’ve never thought much about going to this fest before, but from this video it looks cool as hell, might put it on my bucket list for someday! As a fellow PNW-er from Vancouver the heat is my only source of trepidation, but if I ever go to Vegas for any reason it will be for this lmao

this was honestly one of the best weekends of my life if not the. the only complaint for me that it was way too hot weather wise. friday i played shadow creek (golf course) there friday. Saturday mostly stayed in my room because of getting beat up by the heat on friday but made it to all of the shows Interrupters and bad religion were awesome. Saturday was amazing with my favourite Rancid playing. Face to Face was unreal as well. didn't get to make any of the club shows which was disappointing but thats life. and honestly for the the cost (being Canadian) it was so worth it. only $290 for the festival.

So jealous man, I love Sloppy Seconds, Jughead's Revenge, The Slackers, Hepcat, you basically saw 80% of my favorite bands in one weekend. What a legendary time! I might have to check it out next year but I don't have any punker friends so I would have to go alone

Damn, I wish I could have made it to that. I didn't know Anti-Heros were back together, I would have gone just to see them. Jugheads Revenge and Deviates are also bands I've never gotten to see. I just started listening to The Chisel and those guys fucking kick ass, I hope I get to see them next time they come around.

Whoa! I don't think I've ever heard ANYONE discuss JUGHEAD'S REVENGE on utube before! I def like them but I'll admit that the only material I have and am familiar with is from the "Go Ahead Punk...Make My Day" comp that I listened to a bit bk in the 90's when it was first released, but then again recently it was reissued on vinyl for RSD. Now owning this vinyl reissue, I forgot how great they are and wanna hear more but I'm not sure where to start...any suggestions?

10 year PRB vet, you did it right, as me and my friends say, it's a marathon, not a sprint. While we do drink, none of us go hard with that. I also have gone VIP year over year, which allows for at least a little shade, and until this year we also had misting fans, so I feel it's worth the added expense, but get that not everyone can afford it.

I've really got into this channel recently, very earnest. I get you are sober and with in "proper" punk this is a thing, but you don't have to mention it all the time. I'm proud and impressed.
