Puppet update: Magnets, reshoots and fur

I watched all of your videos today they are very helpful! Where do you recommend finding fur?

I'm very glad you like them. There is a fabric shop near where I live that has 'novelty' fabric hidden at the back. It's not a huge selection but you get to see it in real life. ebay has more of a selection but the photos can often be misleading. Many people will send you samples. These are sometimes big enough to do the job. What are you making?

I was hoping to make an animal character maybe a cat similar in look to the characters in fantastic Mr.fox. I was thinking of using a 12 inch gi joe figure as a base puppet and cover it in long sleeve clothes and only have the head and hands exposed which I would custom make and cover in fur. This way I don't have to make a puppet from scratch just the hands and head.
