You dont f'ing know what happened! Your ego wants to assume to feel superior. Grow tf up. Often animals dart in dangerous situations and ppl have the right to save themselves and esp their kids if they can't chase their pet! There was obvious intent to take the dog or it wouldn't have been there.

I was thinking the same thing but now that I've watched it a second time I don't think they abandoned the dog because that wouldn't mean that they abandoned the car too. I wonder if they were taking off because of the tornado warning I could not find the dog. Because for me I wouldn't believe that they would abandon the car and the dog just to abandon the dog

This type of behaviour, dumping a dog because you can't be bothered with it anymore seriously heats my blood to homicidal! I know what these individuals deserve and none of its nice, for them I mean. But I continue to be grateful for kind souls who actually have a beating heart but too many don't! Thank you deeply for your kindness and empathy!

Anyone who dumps a dog, especially during an imminent weather event, well there’s a special place in hell for them. I really hope they never get another dog or any other pet, but sadly these people are often the first to dump a pet and then get another puppy. So happy he was helped by these kind people!

How is that dog being loyal? It took food and wanted tenderness from new people within 6 hours from abandonment. Loyal dog would have run away and not accepted new people in its life for a long time. 😄

I could be wrong but I think people who dump dogs like that are either ashamed to give up there dog or they don't want any kind of fees! There cowards & don't give a crap what happens to there dog ! Pathetic!

I don't think the person had choice, seeing that the puppy was found prob after the tornado. There's tons of owners who lose their pets in those moments!

If , in fact same person owned both dog & truck it probably means they left their house together and may not have had time to grab leash. That means not likely abandoned. Have you considered that when the 🌪 warning came through the people ran from truck to get in a building but the dog panicked and got loose? If this "rescue" group didn't try to verify where the owner was, they essentially stole a dog. Dog has collar so someone cared enough to do at least that

That’s how I got my blue Heeler… her and her 7 brothers and sisters were abandoned in a box in a ditch out in the STICKSSSS of Indiana. They were estimated to be around 8 weeks old at the time and it was February at that. COLD. I’d just lost my Australian Shepard that past September from cancer and my border collie that past December from a broken heart. My best friend saw the Humane Societies post on fb, sent it to me and said “omg they look like a baby patches!” (My Aussie) - her as a pup is my pfp. My fiance at the time was working a 4 on 4 off schedule and just started his 4 on… I called and asked if a puppy could be held until we could both go down but they were only 24 hours and all had holds already. My daughter was somewhere else at the time so I said ef it and drove the 2 hours southeast. All still had holds when I got there and I was playing with one of her sisters for almost an hour… then at around 4pm the girl at the desk was like “why don’t you go over to baileys and shop for a minute and come back in 45 mins and we’ll see if any holds come off before close.” As soon as my hand hit the door handle one of the girls in the back came running screaming “FRISKYS HOLD JUST FELL OFF!” I turned around so fast and said “who do I pay and where do I sign?” Since I was in the boonies my fiance never got the text about her 😂 We’d stopped at PSP and I got her a collar and a tag cuz I’d decided her name on the ride home, Stella. Needless to say he was pretty startled when he came thru the door and saw us on the couch 🤣🤣🤣 She’s the best girl ever.. she listens, she’s playful, she’s got a crazy sense of humor and super loving. She’ll be 11 on thanksgiving. ❤❤❤

My guess is the original owner died and, rather than rehome him, whoever sorted the estate out dumped him. See how he offered his paw? He was taught to "shake hands". He will have learned to associate that with a loving response and that's what he is looking for here.

A lot of dogs freak out when it storms. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how a lot of them get lost

People have to rehome dogs sometimes. I took in a dog who needed rehomed she is fine. She is not scared of storms at all. Took a few days to warm up to us, and now she's just part of the family. We have had her 7 years now. I am not sure if she thinks of her old family, but I don't think she does.
