Everyone meet Phelps 🏊‍♂️
He was surrendered yesterday by his breeder after no longer being able to take on his care. Phelps was born with swimmers. This is a deformity that some babies are born with causing their limbs to splay out and can be corrected as a very small baby if done properly. Rehabilitation is a HUGE necessity the second they start bearing weight of their limbs at 2 weeks of age so the muscles don’t atrophy in this position. Phelps is now 12 weeks old. 🥺 he has the sweetest soul ever.
We don’t usually intake babies at this age but I could not turn him away. It’s like he was staring into my soul for help.
