Kakrol or Spiny Gourd is one of the most sought after summer vegetables for any Bengali. It is also known as Teasel Gourd. In today's video, I will show you how to make the quintessential Bengali “Stuffed Spiny Gourd Fritters” better known as “Kakrol Pur Bhaja”.
This dish goes best with steaming hot rice and Daal. Kakrol's are filled with its own flesh, spicy mustard and coconut mixture, coated in a batter and then deep fried. On a fine rainy day, this can also be the perfect appetizer.
