@@teancrumpets5685 Yea. They do this thing where they purposely make the light imperfect. That way, it feels like it was filmed outside a studio almost like a documentary, rather than a movie. Dune and Dune2's whole filming style is really similar to a documentary lol.

I love all the clear anime inspiration they used in this. That massive facility and the machine that rolls the Yeager out rather than just having it walk out of the hanger. And del Toro himself said that the inspiration for Gipsy Danger was a gunslinger. His yeagers were based on concepts and not specific mecha from anime.

I love my older movies like Terminator,Alien,Aliens,T2,Predator. Pacific Rim totally has a place in that lineup for me now. It's just a bad ass fun movie to watch. 10/10 easy.

That was only added after gypsy was rebuilt years later, also the kaiju were still seen as weak compared to the jaegers until this fight with knifehead so they probably thought "hey it worked a dozen other times so lets do the same thing"

@@BaneSIlvermoonHonestly the best and most believable source of power. It's just a big ass steam engine basically, but you don't need to shovel coal in it. Just switch out a few fuel rods every now and then.

Most likely not. Modern humans would improve the weapons we have since a huge mech robot is less practical. It would make sense to use tanks, missiles, and the navy.

Well the angles here are very close-by, so Danger looked especially chunky, not to mention the fact that each of his movements were shown slow and with several steps (check the shoulder protection at the start for example), not to mention Gipsy avenger is thin as hell.
