Ice Blade/Lightning Spear Enchant. Perma Flame Shield. Using Conj Mastery to scale damage. Only Shako. No Starless. Boss damage? Abysmal. Mobbing Damage? Also Abysmal. Blizzard please buff Chain Lightning. Give it unbroken tether for free, and a Unique that isn't an Amulet or Staff to grant it Omnipower.
Chain Lightning sucks, I'll be upfront. But my goal this season is to get every skill to do a T100 so here we are. Brute Forcing it with goated gear. Chain Lightning's faults are a lack of AoE damage despite the chains and a lack of raw base damage. It's just a worse frozen orb. It's just not enough, even with 8 ranks of Conjuration Mastery and a metric ton of Lightning Spears out.
No one cares about Chain Lightning, but I'm going to build and juice it out for the 4 people who want to run it. That's just what I do. I take trash and put glitter and sprinkles on it. I didn't want to do a Ball Lightning Hybrid like I did with charged bolts. Chain Lightning was a bit better to use than Charged Bolts because it can make abundant crackling to feed the Lightning Spear machine for scaling.
My skill tree, gear, and paragon shown are a bit different than what is in the planner. Just the nature of tempering and reusing gear from multiple builds.
My weapons were 4/12 and they held up just fine.

Without high uptime of flame shield(not immortal), sorc is still around 80 pit, even after the pit nerf

over 60% ATK speed, 5.65 seconds for flame shield, and 42.5% CDR eh? Hmmm....seems thats basically the sweet spot for immortality. I havent played chain lightning since season 1. LOVELY build indeed :) Thanks for showcasing it! #Subbed

its pretty lax on the builds that can get 3 tempers its not too terrible. but requires ramping of the ice blades

Good on you for playing non-meta stuff. I'm running charged bolts right now without immortal and I just passed pit 50. It's such bullshit that the Sorc Developer(s) leave Chain Lightning like this. It should at LEAST look and feel like Druid Lightning imo. GL bud keep it up.

Thank you for your informative build information. It would be helpful for some of us (like me) that the rank of skills in your mobalytics guide show the order of stats as they are on the actual item rather than by what you consider to be a priority because it's easier to find items when gambling if I can looks for an amulet with attack speed, then cooldown reduction and THEN ranks to conjuration mastery just as they appear on the item.

I am confused, can you restate this. I usually just slap the 3 stats I think will be best, then MW and GA whatever I think are most important. Besides on immortal builds which are going away next season, the masterworks are flexible

The Boss dmg is impressive. The Stagger is incredible. I bet it melts through a Tier 70 Pit, which is the one I usually settle for material farming. I'm definitely going to try this. Got a pair of gloves with At. Speed and Chain Lightning Greater Affixes waiting. GGs thanks for the Guides.

yes, the stagger has impressive speed but killing bosses is still very slow compared to others.

@@Lurkin17 with a unique 1hweapon, which says, after casting 2 chain lightning, you can cast teleport again, after casting teleport, your chain lightning burns enemies for X int for 4 seconds, and chain lightning always cast twice. -Int -Attack speed -Crit dmg -7 ranks for chain lightning

How would you build it, if you had to use a 2hand weapon? Which aspect on the weapon? Is temerity an option, or trash? I found a +int +life on hit greater affix 2hand weapon... Do the barriers stack?

I did. It’s just a big damage loss to CL because you lose a 1.45x damage aspect and potentially 7 ranks of Conj mastery

I’d need to run raiment. And then flame shield gets really dicey with the loss of a temper. And I’d be super squishy. I’m not really into shatter. It’s great. But then I have to fish for bosses instead of just avoiding den mother and sharpshooter

40% DR from the skill tree, the one that stacks up at 3% per second in the conjuration area. Close DR I am not sure, but 20% all dr is from shako

In s4 sorcs best stat is a lot of CD reduction. It is such a pain to hit all those tresholds for the perma shield.

Didn’t need the mana regen. Can get more damage out of a legendary ring because of a 1.3x damage aspect, attack speed, int, tempers, and the unstable currents CDR roll

I use it to make crackling during unstable currents. mana is from mana per second on chest and ranks to conj mastery scaling my mana regen

I made an adjustment after the PTR after playing more chain lightning. Ball lightning enchant has a bug it seems and doesn’t scale very well

Yup it’s terrible. I just try to bring awareness to skills that need buffs. If blizzard sees just have much worse it is in a well built build in a 100 maybe they’ll buff it accordingly

Just like druid even with every multiplier in existence, still hit shitty damage. But barbs n nerco can go hit over 50mill to 5billion damage. It's like they never test anything. Fkn druid can get 400%X Crit damage and still only hit 3mill with shred....

This is sad cause I love this build. I'm playing the same build and I'm doing all this key smashing and struggling to even clear 100pit, where in my Barb I'm standing still and everything dies with my Thorn in 100-120s.
