wow Alyssa you are amazing. I dont think people realize how hard that is. Just the physical aspect of climbing around up there with tools . Never mind the absolute terror of staring down 100 feet if you slip up. It even looks three times as high because of how your house is situated.. So much credit to you . So much credit to you both. Great job. slow and steady..be safe..

What a wife!!! Climbs an untested ladder, with nail splits in the rungs, on a slippery roof, while hauling up roof panels and tools...then cooks you dinner. She's the perfect woman.

Oh yes indeed. She is such an incredible woman, that never loses it. Always the smile, even when she obviously isn't responsible for the goof. Lets not forget Jesse's sister, who has given so much to this project. Thank you too Anna, I'm sure Jesse and Alyssa have said thank you many times. What a great team on this build. Just seeing that half of the roof finished is a great relief for my wife and me. I just had to call out to my wife to come and see the roof at this stage. You go guys, USA is rooting for you...Ken

Great music, and a hug for a good days work. Makes me admire you both! This is from some one that has built over 350 houses. Each day is a VICTORY. To be followed by another day of solid effort, hopefully rewarded by how much you complete that day. Take the pride you deserve. So in the end you can say I BUILT THAT!

One of my favorite vids, and I think I've seen every one of them. I just discovered that Anna is Jessie's sis! What a great help and excellent skills. Everything I like was in this video- well 'photographed', Bugaboo loves, teamwork, effective problem solving, super drone footage, garden visit, Jessie/Alyssa huggies, perfect music, and expert editing.

Enjoying your saga along with you as my wife and self having experienced building our own house, can basically say we finished this year , started in 81 , still married lol, nice roof , only real drawback in our area is hail for newer types of metal roofs,we have metal roofs on some houses around here that are definitely 150 + years old , work safe ,trees too close to a house are a no no , and the bigger they get the more damage and expense involved. If this is your forever home start planning final overall landscaping,I moved some trees around at beginning ,in my spare time lol - days when your shut down because of anything -Will be glad when your off of roof, you were lucky with beam cutting ,used to live in a mill town and nearly all had pieces of fingers missing, usually crushed,if the work is too labor intensive ,ditch digging ,splitting wood get machinery, My physique changed and I became a bear, be advised. Looking good , our cat Tiger from the Woods is Bugaboos brother, yes he was born in woods.

We used Kohler as well. In our shower we used a "Hydrorail". Check it out. It gives you your shower head as well as a hand shower on a moveable rail with a valve to switch between. It can be retrofitted to your shower outlet. As far as the toilet goes, I assume by now you have it installed. We were using a portages potty as well and had the RV toilet. The day the septic tank was set and Electric installed in the house we quickly got our well switched from it's temporary setup at the well head to permanant installation in the house. I ran to the store and picked up a toilet. We set it on the flange and ran a garden hose with adaptors to the hose bib at the pressure tank. We had a TOILET. We celebrated. two days later the company that serviced our ports potty came (on a a Sunday). I heard the truck and ran out and told them they could take it away. We didn't have walls but formed a visual barrier with cardboard while we quickly framed the walls of the bah in the basement. It was very liberating.

I have to say this one is by far my most favorite video you've done on your building project. Building that extra ladder was what I would have done as well. Wicked heavy but it works great. I'm sure the other side will go much faster. Sorry to see you had to remove that tree but, I kinda figured that would happen sooner or later.

Grandmother built a house in 1947 with new fangled aluminum siding that had a 50 year paint warranty. After moving up in homes the house was rented. In 95 her situation changed causing her to move back to a smaller house. The paint was almost gone and would wash off more with every rain. She goes to the file and pulls out the written warranty. I contacted the company who denied the claim without cause. Our attorney said she would probably win but attorney fees were not covered and would cost more than the new siding job. She refused the fight; I would have fought even if it cost double but that's me.

Great work on this last part of the west side. I think when it’s finished you’ll look back and realize this was the most difficult side. There will be less wind and more shade on the east side plus you will have experience working for you. On the con side you will be losing Anna’s help. Losing that tree that gave you so much welcome shade is a downer but it had to go for a lot of good reasons. If you can come up with a good helper for the east side I think you may be able to finish it up in 2 days. Stay safe.

Hey Alyssa... please don't ever go up to a dangerous height if you're not ready. Please. Just take a breath and go if you feel confident. You shouldn't feel pressured. You should be encouraged. When you're pressured you make mistakes. Also you don't need that mental stress. Thanks for your bravery.

Awesome job on getting half of the roof covered. It was a given that the tree had to go so you could continue on that half of the roof. It also looks like the new ladder may actually be easier going up and down in the long run. Great job, again, on the progress you’ve made on your home.

17:28 every place you cut or drilled will rust. If moisture gets under the panels and collects at the bottom, it will freeze into heaving ice because you sealed the bottom edges closed. Also large hail will break open your seams and allow water to penetrate under your panels. ☺
