It's the apron. They probably underestimated it because of the last minute nature of the apron. B Kishan, No need to vibrate the slab. The simple act of people walking through, screeding, etc settles it. And Alyssa, it may FEEL like you didn't do a lot. You DID. You guys got an absolute *BLEEP!*ton of work done for such a small crew. Both individually, and on the whole. Don't stress over it. It's ALL learning, including how to accept help when it's available...

I am so proud of you guys, you are really getting it done. For two people to have the courage to take on a project of this magnitude with little to no experience and produce such a beautiful finish product is highly commendable, so don't let the detractors and naysayers get to you for one second. You are learning so mistakes are to be expected. I've been in building and construction for 37 years, so I know what you're going through and I'd say, you're doing an awesome job. I can't wait to see your next video.

Good looking concrete. I'm always amazed at how the pros can work the mud without getting the clothes real nasty and never seem to get sweaty. Part of it is because they rarely lift the mix. Just the occasional half shovel to fill a low spot. While "pour" is the accepted word now when I was young the old timers would jump you if you said it. The proper word was "place." Pour was synonymous with amateurist work. Back then concrete placement and finishing was part of the carpentry trade and the unions were very protective. That started to change after the war. With your concrete placed and finished the next big progress event is when you close in. Your doing great. Keep it up.

Tis awesome to have friends/co-workers/extra hands to help in this project. If it were me I'd have to pay dearly for the help. I never did have friends to go out of their way to help Ol Hoss. The ones I do have would say they would help, they would arrive late I can bet on that. Dad said long ago "The mark of a true friend is the one that answers the phone at 3:00 AM. All you say is "I can't sleep...." That friend will arrive a short time later. You have to do the same to him or her. "Yeeha!"
