I am sure that many people who have faced loss and grief have found solace and comfort in this beautiful song. A loss like yours is something from which it is almost impossible to recover, and is carried and endured like a heavy burden on an uneven road. Whilst there will be times when it feels almost too hard to continue, take comfort in knowing that when it is time for you to go to your rest, Derek will be waiting for you in the light.

Unfortunately beating a pillow or stuffing your face Into it and yelling your head off is at best a temporary relief/release of anger>frustration>hurt. If the problem continues to exist and negatively affect you these "anger management" techniques only serve to put off the inevitable whatever things may come to. the bad part is often it's the one who has suffered all along and the most that ends up getting punished. Also played this song at the funeral of my much missed wife. As you have said the song was perfect.Having spoken to my wife about funeral songs,at her request ,also played Thank You For Hearing Me. Great songs ,but now very difficult to listen to.

I can very much relate to your feelings, Im also strugled/struggling with the same feelings from my teens to my mid 40's .But in the last few years (I'm 48 now) something has changed inside, the monster is far away, small and weak. I'm not sure why it happed, maybe it was finally "maturing", maybe another process, maybe losing my beloved father and caring for him in his last year ... I don't know. but there is hope! stay strong.
