I had no success learning to knit until I discovered Portuguese knitting. As a crocheter it just works for me.

thank you for this 😭 i'm a crocheter that decided to finally learn how to knit, but i had such a hard time holding the yarn in my dominant hand that i just could not purl for the life of me. i picked this up so much faster !

Great! Yes, for most people this is much easier that throwing the yarn separately all the time!

Thank youuuuu! You may have changed my life. Just like The Little Engine That Could, I'll say, "I think I can. I think I can. I think I can... and just work myself right along! I think I can purl & knit this way! You've made it easy and explained so well. I grant you Sister status if you are under 58 or Aunt status if you are over 58. Older sister or Mom status if you're older than that. If you're older than that , well, Hello! Grand-mama! ( I have no idea, this is my first video I have cataracts in both my eyes so I can't see the picture well, you might be baby sister staus )

I think you are the first one that was able to get me to do the purl stitch correctly, yet I'm not 100% sure if I have it right.

@@TuulaMaaria I'm sure it will. I just have to keep practicing till I get the hang of it and my stitches look pretty. I'm sure there's hope for me. I had a hard time getting used to crochet, but now my crochet is beautiful.

I must say I have never seen anyone knit left-handed so I don't know.

So to be clear, you are holding it in your right hand? because it looks like it's in your left hand. I'm very confused because I only know how to cast on 3 different ways by 3 people, and you said you showed somebody with the right hand when you were 20 and so im expecting right hand... I don't know if you've got this recorded on the mirrored selfie view or what? Please help me understand.

Oh, I see , it can be understood that way! I'm saying on it that until I was over 20 I had never seen anyone knit in such a way that they would have yarn in their right hand. I'm just showing there the way I have always knitted, a number of people had asked me to make a video about that. Not knowing what country you are from, I don't know which way to knit is more common in your country.
