That's all it takes. My mom left driver's door open while she was putting gas in her car; and, someone jumped into the car and drove off. That was 18 years ago. Thanks Memphis. Nothings changed.

4 armed guards at each corner of a gas station is a ridiculous ask. Hate this happened, but just lock the door. Security guards cant shoot anyone over a purse

I always keep my car unlocked and no window ever got smashed. Years before the nasty crimes, I knew to never put anything valuable inside cars.

It should be common sense for a women to carry her purse with her at all times. I don't like purses that much but unfortunately some clothing's companies purposely don't put front pockets on jeans.

Common sense lock the doors. Mine is strapped to the underside of headrest even while pumping gas. Break the window but it wont be a quick grab. I have friends that call from the pump and they will come out and pump if you have disabled placard, probably only in my area though. Mobil gas does this, its posted with number on the pump.

You gotta lock your doors at the pumps. Be vigilant always. And make sure you make your locks open only for the driver door. Most cars 2012 and above have this ability for the initial unlock to only be for the driver door. And put your purse on the back driver side floor put your important things like money, cc, and keys in a separate pouch you can hold while pumping gas.

I’ve become hyper vigilant when I step out of my car at gas stations and similar places. I lock the car and take the key fob with me even if I’m standing next to it. It’s a shame it has come to this and I’m sorry this happened to her, but it’s certainly not Kroger’s fault she was careless.

Do not carry a purse or put it in the trunk. They watch you. Use your pockets only carry license, cash for gas. Lock your door while pumping gas😊
