The trucker is the MVP here.....Using the semi to slow and stop the car helped the troopers not go into getting stop sticks or other ways of stopping the car.... Way to go trooper for caring so much also, and being a good human.

That is so true in my career with Georgia State patrol the state used to get down on channel 9 of the CB and call out for the truckers to form a rolling roadblock. Will you use that quite a few times on i-75 north and south to stop fleeing suspect vehicles. And it is sad when a State trooper is alleged to have done something wrong, it is all over the news, but when any law enforcement goes above and beyond their sworn duty to protect and serve the media is very quiet about it. There was another story on this other Arkansas State Police channel of a patrolman I believe his name was bird and he aided a man that was stranded on the side of the interstate and paid out of his own pocket to put the man up overnight in a hotel till the Man's family could come and get him the next day but where was the media at then???? Sadly with all of the calls to defund the police many seasons law enforcement officers are hanging it up and moving on to other careers...

Trooper Dobson is a shining example of the motto "To Protect And To Serve." The kindness and understanding he showed to this gentleman was so heartwarming to see. Some of the best videos are not always the high speed pursuits and drug busts, but the ones who show us exactly why we love and respect our LEO's so much. His Mother raised him right. That trucker was a Blessing, I hope he knows that he was. Cpl Dobson is so patient and respectful to this gentleman. I'm worried about him as well. Lord, please keep him safe. This had to be extremely difficult for Law Enforcement. Thank goodness he is going with Cpl Dodson. This is the definition of Arkansas Law Enforcement. I remember the little old lady and little old man who left the VA and never made it home. Didn’t have a cell phone or OnStar, or satellite, they had an old car. They died on a road off the beaten path, together in the car. The family didn’t realize she had Dementia also. They thought it was just him. ❤❤

Trooper Dobson sir if you see this video and read the comments I want to commend you on how respectfully you dealt with this gentleman. My father died from dementia and how you treated him brought tears to my eyes as it reminded me of my father and how someone who didn't know who he was treated him. So THANK YOU sir you have an amazing heart and I hope someone bought YOU a coffee.

Couldn't help but chuckle when the officer was starting toward his vehicle then he did a 180 stating "let me get my hat (on top of the man's car) in case he decides to take off". Officer Dobson was very compassionate with the gentleman.

Dementia is the cruel stuff of nightmares. I watched my paternal grandmother succumb to it slowly. She was one of 16 kids, all born and raised in a 3 room cabin in the mountains of NC. She was one of 8 to live past their teen years, and the last of the 16 to pass. She wasn't a highly educated woman, but she taught herself to read and was a gifted gardener. She and my grandfather would watch Jeopardy together every night, and I was amazed at how many random but correct answers she always knew. Her dementia was so bad that my father finally requested that I no longer see or visit her during the last year of her life, as her paranoia and confusion would get the better of her for days every time someone would visit her. Hats off to the trucker and troopers in this scenario. Well done, all.

Poor man, I really feel sorry for people with dementia. It’s such a hard thing to deal with. Thank you trooper for so kind and understanding. My grandmother lived with it for seven years. I can only imagine what his family is dealing with.

My FIL’s short term memory was gone but he could remember the names of the streets from when he was a kid & thought he’d go see people as if they still lived there 75 years later. The more tired he got the more he struggled. If he couldn’t find the hidden car keys he’d wander off on foot. It was a real struggle the last few years. The compassion and wisdom of this trooper really touched me.

My mom is 77 and her memory is starting to go... It is so hard to watch a loved one dealing with it. I am so glad there is folks out there like the trooper who will help us keep are family members safe.

@@jonathanbair523 I’m sorry it’s happening to your mom. It is heartbreaking. If she ever does start to wander off, one thing we learned to do was we attached an air tag to his belt. It may seem odd but the helpless feeling of not being able to find your loved one and the worry of if they’re hurt, propelled us to think of anything. All the best to you. 🌺

As a truck driver, I love the way the other truck driver helped this officer. However, it makes me question why trucks are not required to have a working two-way communication device at all times. And why officers no longer have CB radios in their car or a way to communicate with truck drivers. I understand just about everybody has cell phones these days, but obviously, the officer did not have that driver's cell phone number. I have seen many videos on this channel that officers could have used truck drivers to their advantage

These disease is horrible, I lost 2 grandparents to this and it is hard to watch. The officer done an amazing job with this gentleman. He could relate to the officer being that he was a retired officer himself and honestly I thought he would panic and take off not knowing what was going on because sometimes they get in their mind that people are trying to get them.
