Steve Foster a speed steel shooter who is a World Record Holder with titles pages long has been shooting these for years. If you look him up on the tubes he's got some older videos about these as they developed them over the years. They are well established and have been made for awhile, definitely not your average plinker pistol but a highly refined competitive pistol.

I recently moved to Ohio and wanted to take my shooting game to the next level. I was curious about the CWA (Precision Defense) pistols I had seen some of the faster shooters using at a match. I asked about them and was told that one of the shooters in the squad I was in built them. I now have a Chet Gat in distressed bronze with the quick disconnect RDO plate for when I want to try my irons. I have shot with Chet many times and always brag to him about the gun because it just runs. I'm at around 2k rounds and getting faster with it. Thanks for the great review of Chet's work.

Great video! How have I never heard of this pistol before?? It definitely adds a new wrinkle to your Sig P322 vs. Volquartsen debate--and to my budget planning!

I hate you have been reading my mind. You got the jp a week after I ordered mine. Now I was looking for high capacity 1911 or cz style 22’s last night and here you are. Keep up the good work.

Blazers is the best ammo I have used in my Sig P 322 that lost it's glitter pretty quick with all the leading and feeding problems. I don't have leading or feeding issues with it and a couple more brands including CCI Standard. That thing looks like a blast to shoot. First thing I noticed was you dropping the hammer on an empty chamber I guess mentally counting shots fired takes concentration away from getting on target.

My buddy just got one of these in, imo the only disappointment is the case it comes in is harbor freight and nicely cut or laser cut foam would be fantastic

I didn't know it existed either. When I first started shooting Steel Challenge, I heard you could get 1911/2011 .22lr. And I didn't know when I moved to Ohio that I would be shooting with Chet, the builder of that gun😎.

Hi josh sadly we can have that pistol in UK but we do have gsg 1911 in UK spec. There's a company over here called M9 engineering that does a 20 /25 ?round mag extension maybe good if your keeping the pistol
@Whispertactical2 ай бұрын
Hold on are we looking at a very expensive 2011 22lr competition pistol that only takes 10rd mags

They are releasing 15 round mags soon. You can also get 3 round extension basepads as well

Could you comment on the aggressiveness of the grip texture? Your gun has the v3 grip and I’m trying to decide between that and the v2 grip, which is less aggressive. How “sharp” does it feel? Is it one that will leave behind DNA or is it more mild than that? Is there another grip you can use as a point of reference that it is either similar to or more/less aggressive? Is there anywhere I can see a close-up picture of it? Thanks!
@PursuitofAccuracy18 күн бұрын
@@Scooby131 it's very aggressive. It doesn't tear at my hands but it will leave the texture pattern imprinted in your skin for a little after gripping it. For sure you could use less agressive and it wouldn't be a bad thing

Most reliable, but they recommend you only use high velocity? Sounds to me like it's really not that reliable then.
@PursuitofAccuracyАй бұрын
The recoil spring is setup for high velocity. Pretty common when a gun is optimized to run a certain ammo.

The ruger sr22 is so reliable it's almost boring lol eats everything you can putbinto it. Trigger wouldn't even be close to that thing, definitely not a race pistola. No optic compatibility, no flared magwell. And older models with a serial# below 361### aren't compatible with the threaded barrel. :_( rip lol but all mags can get a 15rd baseplate upgrade, very nice blued steel mags. Double action. Such a fun little plinker, great option for the poors if looking for reliability. This thing looks like some absurdly high quality fun though! Cool showcase man
@leftyo95892 ай бұрын
the key to a reliable rimfire is feeding it quality ammo. most of the rimfire guns you can buy are extremely reliable, the cheap ammo most people feed them however isnt.
@tulpasconstructor27112 ай бұрын
@@leftyo9589true. I would call the keltecP17 inherently unreliable though lol at least a few thousand of them. Was very, very dissapointed by that. Although since I suspect it's an early model, it may not have the little plastic insert that was added into the frame in later productions that people say fixed the reliability issues. It's my gf's so I haven't had the chance to open it up and take a look for a while, cant force her to call keltec for repair. Kinda sad the whole experience really seemed to turn her off from the range. Needless to say that I was not impressed as I had gotten it for her to have something for protection in a nightmare scenario. 17rds as fast as that thing is capable of going would be quite a potent little deterrent for a large pest, she didn't want to go with 9, too heavy for her liking so, don't blame me for what I know everyone would be thinking XD And it's sad because now since she had such an awful experience with it, she's better off not carrying it at all because she has no training behind it. And if she's slow on the draw and the safety, it may as well be the large pests p17. It turned out to be a stovepipe machine though. Never ran anything through it but federal punch, mini mag and stingers. Quite the bummer. :/ the people who got one that works, those things are awesome. I don't think it's as awesome as the sr22 but that's a double action bias. But it does have a nicer trigger, amazingly enough. Really wish that glock would make the 44 with 15 or 17rd mags. The Taurus TX is nice but it's big. I would really like to try out the fn 509 22 version or the p365 22 version, those look great. Love the 22 plinkers, they are so much fun!

So this vs Black Mamba??? And realize the 10 round mag is an issue with the black mamba, that aside - which one?
@PursuitofAccuracy2 ай бұрын
This pistol destroys the black mamba
@paulnoll98352 ай бұрын
Why do you think it destroys the Black Mamba, elaborate please ? I know there is a big price difference and I’m sure custom work on key parts but does it really shoot that much better and that much more reliable than the BM ? With spending the same or close amount of money on the BM could you get the same performance ?

I don’t follow what a TD or T&E is? No money? Pleas explain Josh. Thank you.
@ronmartblog2 ай бұрын
It means they let you borrow the product without having to buy it. It’s a common practice so reviewers can evaluate a a product without the expense of having to buy it. It exist for every industry- not just guns. Generally speaking T&E guns have to be returned but sometimes they let the reviewer buy it at a discounted price (because it’s effectively a used gun). It’s also not uncommon that T&E guns aren’t new and have been used by other reviewers.
