Hi and thanks for watching the video and I hope you don't see the title as being too click bait and can appreciate whats great here about what we are getting for such a small form factor and relative low cost. However on that I did make a mistake in my introduction - the Atom was pitched to me by Dangbei as being one of the brightest projectors of its form factor - of course not of all projectors. I didn't explain that correctly and only just realised at the last minute. I wanted to clear that up, Thanks again for watching.

you've noticed sharpness issues in the top and bottom of screen because you used keystone correction, this will always make the edges a little blurrier. if you use the projector straight without keystone the image will be 100% sharp.

In an amplifier review you would disclose if it's a class A or class D. For a projector I want to know if it's LCD or DLP. It's DLP. You said it's full HD and it's also advertised as this, but the native DMD resolution is only 1368 x 768p. Only through pixel shifting they emulate Full HD. You did not talk about contrast which is 781:1 (= ok regarding price). Also the nominal 1200 Lumen turn out to be about max 1071 in real, which is not enough for 4 m of screen size with daylight... I mentioned this because these are important key indicators like the ones about amps with watts, ohms and damping factors and current stability, which you usually talk about in audio reviews, so please keep that level also when talking about video .
@PursuitPerfectSystem6 ай бұрын
To be fair I am always open to criticism but I mentioned its a laser projector in the first sentence and then wrote it on the screen about a minute later. Then why contrast ratio can be important it can also be misleading as the Page One has an amazing claimed 2500:1 contrast ration and you can see that at times for the overall viewing experience other factors matter more. I am not sure where that other info came from its not published by Dangbei that I have seen - however if you ever want more info than I talk about in a review, because you cant cover everything for everyone all the time then its usually easy to go find that info.
@goodsound47566 ай бұрын
@@PursuitPerfectSystem I didn't want to upset you, but wanted to leave some constructive remarks. The laser is the definition of the light source, not of the pixel processing method. Likewise a "50 watt amp" doesn't indicate if it's tube or transistor based. But viewers usually like to know.
@PursuitPerfectSystem6 ай бұрын
Like I said that is not published information - the dangbei website says resolution 1080P FHD 1920x1080 it doesn't mention anything else so I don't see how anyone else would know different to that. I have their press details and its not mentioned there either. It says it uses the 0.33 DLP chip which is 1080p or can be 1080P so as far as I could tell its 1080p and I still don't know any different to that it wouldn't make any difference to how I felt about it either. Its not a difference that makes a difference other factors matter more ime so far.
@goodsound47566 ай бұрын
@@PursuitPerfectSystemTerry, as you said, it's a 0.33" DMD from Texas Instruments. If you check their website for specs (as Dangbei doesn't provide more): (YT doesnt allow to post a link, I tried 4 variants for your convenience but every time it got autodeleted) On TI main page, in the search field enter "DLP3310" and the find is the data we're looking for. you can find the info under "Micromirror array size". I don't blame you, it's Dangbei that is not as transparent as they should be, obviously for marketing reasons.

Great overview. In my room i would probably only get 100" max and more likely 80". Given the relative budget nature of this, what screen would you recommend? Would prefer a pull up screen for convenience!
@PursuitPerfectSystemАй бұрын
@@amaury1264 I think 100 inch is about the sweet spot size for a PJ like this. Screens I am going to be looking at a couple soon. For a normal room ALR screens are the best way to get the best contrast. These days they come in different varieties I have a black screen on its way to me and super excited to try that as it’s makes sense to be the best screen colour for contrast but what about the rest. We will find out

@@PursuitPerfectSystem how much should I look to budget for a screen approximately?
@PursuitPerfectSystemАй бұрын
Hard to say it depends on what you need - a fixed screen is by far the most cost effective way to do it - if you look into motorised screens it starts getting expensive for obvious reasons. The screen I have coming to me is from Nothing Projector that have quite a range on there. nothingprojector.com/en-gb/collections/projector-screens There are a lot of screen manufacturers - it depends on what you need. I would say your more likely to upgrade your projector over time than you are the screen, so get a really good screen to start with as it will stand the test of time if you look after it and don't touch it with jam on your hands :)

Terry, you still have your HT setup with the reference kefs and a million ls50s? Or is this 2 channel room the remodeled takeover of the old HT gear?
@PursuitPerfectSystem5 ай бұрын
Sadly no, I only have the one room so the cinema had to go as I was reviewing 99% HiFi products so the room which is really a video set too these days needed to look nicer and be easier to work in. There is still remnants of the old cinema that you dont see on camera and I still have the four LS50 with brackets screwed into them that were hung on the ceiling. The rest is gone though now
