Did you know that there is a hidden reality affecting thousands of people worldwide? It's called cervical dystonia AKA spasmodic torticollis, and today Tanya tells her inspirational story of how she pushes through the pain from this often debilitating condition. Cervical dystonia is a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary muscle contractions in the neck. These contractions cause abnormal postures and twisting movements, making everyday tasks incredibly challenging for those affected. Despite its obscurity, cervical dystonia affects numerous individuals globally, causing severe symptoms that significantly impact their quality of life. Our mission is to shed light on this condition and raise awareness about its challenges and the disability it can cause.

We are Derec & Tanya. Welcome to our channel! We believe nature is the best medicine. We love the outdoors & have found healing in nature. Tanya and Derec, sending lots of hugs. You two have been troopers over the years showing people how people can deal with their disabilities. I've been dealing with dyslexia and you learn to adapt and make the best of it. I've found through the years what I'm good at and that's all that matters in life. Finding what makes you happy and focusing on the positive. I hope your foundation takes off because you know what it is like and what needs to be done!

Shaun...thanks so much for your support as always 🥰 Our son has dyslexia so I know what that entails. I fought for services for him in elementary school & paid for a special tutor, also he got special colored prescription glasses that he swore by. So with all of that, he ended learning a bunch of tricks that helped him learn & he now is a successful college graduate that works in finance for Amazon. I hope you continue to learn what is the best way for your brain to process the input so you can thrive in life! Hope to meet you one day! Tanya

Hi Tanya and Derec, I think it helps for people to see all aspects of life. When I first started looking for stories about people with dystonia, I was saddened to hear of people hiding away and withdrawing from life. It was good to see some people posting positive content but I appreciate when people are honest too and share the not so positive aspects. Good to find your channel. I like the sound of the Just Roll With It Mobility Foundation. I was able to get mobility equipment to get me off road (at the very least out on the footpath comfortably) with help from grants, so I appreciate what you are doing for others 👍 I was just thinking the other day, I really need to get out into nature. I’m waiting for my Botox shots and I don’t like resting. I hope you are all doing better soon. Love from Australia 🐨

I think it is important to show the good & the bad times but it's extra hard for me to show the times when it is bad. Ya...I don't like being on so many meds because it seems like one thing causes another with side effects, etc. I am already on Baclofen 3 x day, Lyrica 2 x day plus the Botox 400u and in between the Botox shots I get occipital nerve blocks (which will be another video). But thank you Lord (and Docs) I do also have some as needed Tramadol as well now 🙏 Thanks for the comment. You are now entered for a chance to win the October drawing! 😘
