Great video! I was able to get the old string out and insert the new one without disassembly, just holding the pulley against the spring tension, but I would not have known how without your help, you rock!

Bingo!! Same mower with same starter mechanism, just snapped the chord the other day! Got some new chord, now off to the garage to get these hands dirty!! Thanks heaps.

Thanks for the video. Had this mower for 12 years purchased 2nd hand, never missed a beat. But snapped the cord the other day. Hopefully now I can repair it.

Good info !!!! The recoil gear on mine just stripped out today so & need to replace it. They are still available online for nearly $33 AUD !!!!

Make sure you order the right dia cord. I ordered 4.5 which was too thick. Persevered and managed to thread through holes and get knots to sit flush. However, not enough room on spindle to allow required amount of turns to give a full pull. Ok for now - smaller dia cord on order.
