I used a dremel with a cutting wheel to carefully cut the outer coil. Very easy with this method

I am looking at shortening the throttle cable if necessary when doing my Briggs & Stratton 3.5 HP lawnmower, a jammed up throttle cable is the crux of all the running problems which even gave me an erroneous compression reading from the engine. I may have to remove 200 millimetres of the protective sheathing & armouring so I am looking to use a coping saw that I used when working on a work related project which involved cutting steel wire armoured cable,that required me to score the outer armouring of the electrical cable without cutting through the insulation then into the conductor itself (yes ! I'm an electrician who worked on a project such as that & I haven't been able to get work for nearly 6 years). Well,I'll just score the outer part of the spring armouring then twist it in a vice or use 2 pliers to shear that spring armouring off. I used the coping saw to cut the smaller power & control cables armouring ,a hacksaw would be overkill for the throttle cable as well I think !!!!
