Great videos guys, very helpful. I have a question - I'm thinking about putting one of these in a totally different 2 stroke engine to bypass a failed cdi unit that I can no longer get a replacement for. I'm lucky enough to have a wife who can x-ray the cdi unit for me so i can accurately drill the resin filled coil / circuitry housing and disconnect the cdi circuitry from the coil. Why? Well just because it seems possible and why the heck not. I'm not sure how these universal modules are wired into the system though - do they come with a wiring diagram?

Hi, My Victa 2 stroke 160cc has no spark. I disconnected the kill wire, tested the ignition coil (as per your instructions on other post) and had the reading of 8.5k ohm and also tested this ignition module which had a reading of 5.504k ohm. But I still could not get any spark on different spark plugs. Although I felt a kick when holding a screwdriver on spark plug wire and touching the engine block while slightly crank the flywheel. So what is the problem? Should I replace the module or the coil? Thanks heap for any advice!

Ok, so what's the advantage of an Ignition Module over a condenser/capacitor and points setup? I've got a Victor Tornado Classic (~2005), and wonder what it would be using.

I have victa til-a-cut I did replaces the coil con one model MA)5599A but still have no spark at all, any sugestions how do I test this coil the old one is supposed to be 9-11 omh what of this one
