In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

I feel for Jonnie Peacock. It didn't matter so much when Katy Wix was absent from two of the 10 studio records for Series 9 because she had the other eight episodes: here Jonnie was in a one-off special he then couldn't attend the studio record for, which made it clear to me that those appearances are just as important as the tasks themselves. It almost feels like he wasn't in the episode at all :(

I so agree, and the really sad/irritating bit from my perspective is that I was hoping Jonnie Peacock would be on a TMNYT for months! Very pleased when he was announced, only to be dashed at the sight of Alan Davies (Sorry Alan!).

I am glad it was a one off. The guy is just foul and people confuse his rudeness for comedy... Not sure how. Brummies usually sound happy by nature ... Nasty person. Hard to forget what he said about a dead man just because of football. Scumbag. Sir Jack may have been old but at least he wasn't a loser like Chiles.

I like how Alan is a substitute is the complete opposite of Kerry when she replaced Katy Wix; he was unusually pedantic and aggressive compared to his own series when he was one of the chillest contestants ever, and yet the usually-competitive Kerry barely tried to defend Katy's lasso attempt 😂

What I would have done is this: Take the egg and the cup with me and go up to a stranger in the streets. Hand the stranger the egg, then say "Quick. Either smash this egg or place it gently in the cup!" No explanation. Just action. It's a 50/50 chance - they either smash it or put it in the cup. I either get disqualified, or I succeed. Would be even more daring to this 3 times in a row, but not sure I'd risk it that many times.

On all of these "one shot if it breaks/fails/etc" I still dont know why so many people just dont go "eff it" set the egg in, and walk away figuring worst case they get 3rd, best case everyone else fails or they get points for being daring by doing nothing.
