Fr.Puthenpura is one of the renowned priest I respect a lot and it is unbelievable that he used such language. I am sure it stemmed from lots of pain experienced from broken families, because of problem created by Pentecostal guys-whose main target is , as the Pastor admitted is members of Catholic and Orthodox churches . I my self know an incident in which my Orthodox friend's mother left the husband, children and family and joined Pentecostal movement. Why they are breaking families like this? why can't they preach among tribals and advasis and teach them the right way of Christ, instead of setting snares for Catholics and Orthodox church members? Further their clandestine mode of working and the shouting and nuisance in their prayer meetings brings bad name to the entire Christian community. The main reason for the Hindu uprising against Christians in Khandamal (orissa) some time back was mainly due to unscrupulous work of Pentecostal guys there, and the Christians are referred as luring people with money and position in church. Since working outside Kerala I myself faced many embarrassing situations, because of the bad name created by Pentecostal guys. A friend of mine was sharing that he loves, respects and also even pray to Jesus where as he hates Christians as he is staying near to a Penetecostal Assembly building. This sums up everything. The greatest proof that Mother Mary did not have any other children is Jesus words, whereby he entrusted Mother Mary to John's care. If other children were there this was not needed. This is being conveniently forgotten by Pentecostal guys. I had close relation with a Pentecostal family when I was in Kharagpur. That Chechi told me that she would never give her daughter to a Pentecostal guy as she was sharing the infighting withing the Pentecoastal Church, which I also found true ! When once I was in their house one pastor came and insulted me by his mean words about catholic Church and branding me, being a Catholic. I did not respond. I still believe that Fr. Puthenpura could have used better words!

“ദൂതന്‍ അവളുടെ അടുക്കല്‍ അകത്തു ചെന്നു: കൃപലഭിച്ചവളേ, നിനക്കു വന്ദനം; കര്‍ത്താവു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.” (ലുക്കോ 1 :28) “എലീശബെത്ത് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവളായി, ഉച്ചത്തില്‍ വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: സ്ത്രീകളില്‍ നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവള്‍; നിന്റെ ഗര്‍ഭ ഫലവും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു: എന്റെ കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ മാതാവു എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വരുന്ന മാനം എനിക്കു എവിടെ നിന്നു ഉണ്ടായി.” (ലൂക്കോ 1 : 41 - 43 ) ഈ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനയിലെ അവസാന “സമര്‍പ്പണ വാക്യം” (invocation) മാത്രം ആണ് വചനത്തില്‍ ഇല്ലാത്തതായി ഉള്ളത്. അമ്മയോട് ഉള്ള നമ്മുടെ അപേക്ഷയാണ് “ഇപ്പോഴും എപ്പോഴും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മരണ സമയത്തും ദൈവം തമ്പുരാനോട്‌ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് കൊള്ളണമേ” എന്നുള്ളത്. കൃപ നിറഞ്ഞവളോ കൃപ ലഭിച്ചവളോ? മറിയം “കൃപ നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍” ആണോ? “കൃപ ലഭിച്ചവള്‍” എന്നാണല്ലോ ബൈബിളില്‍ ഉള്ളത്? ഈ ചോദ്യത്തിനുള്ള മറുപടി നോക്കാം. മൂല ഭാഷകളില്‍ എന്താണ് പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് നോക്കാം. ഗ്രീക്കില്‍ അത് “xaire kexarithomene ” (കൈറെ കെക്കറിതൊമെനെ) എന്നതാണ്. ‘xaire’ എന്നാല്‍ ‘സന്തോഷിക്കുക’ / ‘ആനന്ദിക്കുക’ എന്നാണു അര്‍ഥം - ഗ്രീക്കില്‍ greeting ചെയ്യാന്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന വാക്കാണ്‌ അത്; ഹീബ്രുവിലെ “ശാലോം” എന്നതിന്റെ ഒരു ഭാഷാഭേദം. ‘kexarithomene’ എന്നാല്‍ ‘കൃപയാല്‍ നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍’ എന്ന് അര്‍ഥം. സുറിയാനിയില്‍ അത് “ശ്ലോംലേക്ക് മല്‍യാഥ് തൈബൂഥോ” എന്നാണു. ഇവിടെയും അര്‍ഥം ‘കൃപയാല്‍ നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍’ എന്ന് തന്നെ ആണ്. ഇന്ഗ്ലിഷിലേക്ക് പരിഭാഷപ്പെടുതുമ്പോഴും ഇതേ അര്‍ഥം ആണ് വരുന്നത് “Hail full of grace”. “നന്മ നിറഞ്ഞ മറിയമേ സ്വസ്തി” എന്ന പരിഭാഷയെക്കാള്‍ മൂല ഭാഷയോട് കൂടുതല്‍ അടുത്ത് നില്‍ക്കുന്നതും “കൃപ നിറഞ്ഞ മറിയമേ സമാധാനം” എന്നത് തന്നെ ആണ്. ബൈബിള്‍ മൂലഭാഷ അനുസരിച്ച് മറിയം ‘കൃപ നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍’ തന്നെ ആണ്. കൃപ നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍ എന്നതുകൊണ്ട്‌ രണ്ടു അര്‍ഥം ആണ് ഉള്ളത്. 1. ദൈവകൃപയാല്‍ നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍ 2. കാരുണ്യം / കൃപ (xaris - കാരിസ് ) നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍ ഈ രണ്ടര്‍ത്ഥം ആയാലും മറിയം ദൈവത്തെപ്പോലെ “കൃപ നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍” ആണെന്നല്ല മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടത്, മറിച്ച് ദൈവ കൃപമൂലം ക്രിസ്തീയ കാരുണ്യത്താല്‍ നിറഞ്ഞവള്‍ എന്നാണു. ഈ വരികള്‍ നാം ധ്യാനിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ മറിയമിനെപ്പോലെ ദൈവകൃപ ലഭിക്കെണ്ടതിനെക്കുറിച്ചും അമ്മയെപ്പോലെ ക്രിസ്തീയ കാരുണ്യം മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് നാം പകര്‍ന്നു കൊടുക്കെണ്ടതിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ആണ് ഓര്‍ക്കേണ്ടത്. “തമ്പുരാന്റെ അമ്മേ” / “ദൈവമാതാവായ വിശുദ്ധ കന്യകയെ” എന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ; മറിയം ദൈവമാതാവാണോ? “എലീശബെത്ത് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവളായി, ഉച്ചത്തില്‍ വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: സ്ത്രീകളില്‍ നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവള്‍; നിന്റെ ഗര്‍ഭ ഫലവും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു: എന്റെ കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ മാതാവു എന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വരുന്ന മാനം എനിക്കു എവിടെ നിന്നു ഉണ്ടായി.” (ലൂക്കോ 1 : 41 - 43 ) മറിയം ദൈവമാതാവാണ്. എലിസബത്ത് പരിശുധാത്മാവില്‍ നിറഞ്ഞു മറിയമിനെക്കുരിച്ചു പറയുന്നു “കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ മാതാവ്” എന്ന്. മൂല ഭാഷയായ ഗ്രീക്കില്‍ കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ (തമ്പുരാന്‍) എന്നതിനുള്ള പദം “kyrios” (കൂറിയോസ്) എന്നതാണ്. [നാം “കുറിയെലായിസ്സോന്‍” (കര്‍ത്താവേ കരുണ തോന്നണമേ!) എന്ന് പ്രാര്‍ഥിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ എല്ലാം ഈ പദം ആണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്.] ഈ kyrios എന്ന പദം തന്നെ ആണ് പഴയനിയമ ഗ്രീക്ക് പരിഭാഷയില്‍ (Septuagint) “യഹോവ” (YHWH) എന്ന ദൈവനാമത്തെ പരിഭാഷപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. അങ്ങനെയെങ്കില്‍ “കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ അമ്മ” എന്ന് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുക വഴി “യഹോവയുടെ മാതാവ്” അഥവാ “ദൈവമാതാവ്” എന്ന് തന്നെ ആണ് പ്രഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്. ദൈവമാതാവെന്നാല്‍ ദൈവത്തെക്കാള്‍ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ എന്നോ ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടെണ്ടവള്‍ എന്നോ അര്‍ഥമില്ല. അതുപോലെ പുത്രന്‍ തമ്പുരാന്റെ നിത്യത്വതില്‍ ഉള്ള മാതാവ് എന്നും അര്‍ഥം ഇല്ല. (“ആദിയില്‍ മാതാവില്ലാതെ ജനിക്കുകയും കാല സമ്പൂര്‍ണതയില്‍ കന്യകയായ മാതാവില്‍ നിന്ന് ജനിക്കുകയും….” എന്ന് നാം പ്രാര്‍ഥിക്കാറുണ്ടല്ലോ) യേശു ദൈവമായതുകൊണ്ട് യേശുവിനെ പ്രസവിച്ചവള്‍ ദൈവമാതാവാണ്. മറിയം ദൈവമാതാവല്ലെന്നു വാദിക്കുന്നവര്‍ യേശുവിന്റെ ദൈവത്വത്തെ തന്നെയാണ് നിഷേധിക്കുന്നത്. ആദ്യകാലഘട്ടത്തില്‍ യേശുവിന്റെ പൂര്‍ണ മനുഷ്യനായുള്ള അവതാരത്തെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്ത വേദവിപരീതികള്‍ വാദിച്ചത് മറിയം ‘ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ മാതാവാണ്’ (Christotokos) എന്നാണു. എന്നാല്‍ മറിയം ‘ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാതാവാണ്’ (Theotokos) എന്നാണു അതിനെ തിരുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് ആദിമ പിതാക്കന്മാര്‍ പഠിപ്പിച്ചത്. പുത്രനായ ദൈവം ശരീരം സ്വീകരിച്ചത് പൂര്‍ണമായും കന്യകയായ മറിയമില്‍ നിന്നാണ്. യേശു ശരീരത്തിലും ആത്മാവിലും പൂര്‍ണദൈവം ആണെങ്കില്‍ മറിയം ദൈവമാതാവ് തന്നെ ആണ്. ഇതാണ് ആ പ്രർത്ഥനക്കുള്ള കാരണം.അച്ചൻറെ ഭാഷയോട് ഞാൻ യോജിക്കുന്നില്ല. അത് തിരുത്തപെടേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. പരിശുദ്ധ അമ്മയോടുള്ള ഏറ്റവും ആധികാരികവും ലളിതവും തികച്ചും ദൈവവചന അടിസ്ഥാനപരവും ആയ ഒരു മധ്യസ്ഥ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥന ആണ് ഇത്. നമുക്ക് ചേര്‍ന്ന് പ്രാര്‍ഥിക്കാം: കൃപ നിറഞ്ഞ മറിയമേ! നിനക്ക് സമാധാനം. കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ നിന്നോട് കൂടെ. സ്ത്രീകളില്‍ നീ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവള്‍ ആകുന്നു. നിന്റെ ഉദരഫലം ആയ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കര്‍ത്താവ് യേശു മശീഹ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന്‍ ആകുന്നു. മോര്‍ത്ത് മറിയമേ! തമ്പുരാന്റെ അമ്മേ! പാപികളായ ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി ഇപ്പോഴും എപ്പോഴും ഞങ്ങളുടെ മരണ സമയത്തും തമ്പുരാനോട്‌ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് കൊള്ളണമേ! ആമീന്‍. ഇതാണ് ആ പ്രർത്ഥനക്കുള്ള കാരണം.

The word priest came from Latin word Pontifax which means ‘one who builds a bridge between man and God.’ Aaronic priesthood miserably failed to build that bridge because of their inherent sinfulness - that is why God sent his Son Jesus Christ (sinless priest) in the order of Melchizedek to build the bridge between God and man - when Jesus died on the cross, the curtain that separated a Holy God and sinful man was torn into two (Mathew 27:51).
