@@JollyRoger_666 I second that. The Vietnamese are one of the most industrious people to walk this earth. Practically without exception, the boat refugees we took in have all prospered. Vietnam's dabbling with communism has cost the country dearly.

@InvictusVirtus333 Singapore is a democracy? Right. The country was ruled by one guy for 40 years who jailed every single one of his critics and now his son is in charge. Singapore is the classic autocracy. As for Vietnam, if Americans would have won it wouldnt certainly become a new Japan. Most likely it would ve ended like Thailand being the number one world sex tourism destination. But every that has nothing to do with all those terrible atrocities that were committed by "good guys" from the West during the Vietnam War.

Yesterday, when president Putin just landed in Vietnam, 80% the news I watch is from other country: CNA, ABC, Reuster, ... I appreciate the fact that the diplomatic policy of our country has been slowly acknowledged by the other part of the world. Its 21st century now, lets make the term alliance, hostile, adversary, ... become something of the past.

Vietnam - Khmer Rouge 1979 is like Russia - Ukraine today. At that time, only the Soviet Union and India supported Vietnam, while US and his Western allies, and China opposed Vietnam. So, my Vietnamese sympathize with the Russians.

The reason why Vietnam is poor is because the wests have been stealing from it until Communist Vietnam said “NO MORE”. That’s why Vietnam is on its way to recovery now.
