Putin Warns Poland ‘Aggression’ Toward Belarus Is Attack on Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Poland that he would treat any “aggression” toward ally Belarus as an attack on his own country, following Warsaw’s decision to send troops to reinforce its eastern border in response to the presence of Wagner mercenary forces in its neighbor.
“Aggression against Belarus will mean aggression against the Russian Federation,” Putin said in televised comments during a Security Council Meeting Friday. “We will respond to this with all the means at our disposal,” he said, referencing a long-established union state between Belarus and Russia.
The threats, which could exacerbate tensions between Russia and Europe, aren’t the first the Kremlin has leveled against Poland, which is one of Kyiv’s biggest supporters in the war with Russia. Poland is a member of NATO and has shown no intention to take unilateral, unprovoked military action.

Wait I thought Russia had polands back during the Second World War and promised to help them when the Germans invaded but then they betrayed them by letting the Germans advance on them and used is as tactic to break up some of the German army before they reached Russia, that’s when Warsaw got completely destroyed and to this day still hasn’t returned to all its glory which is why some of the polish arnt fond of Russians??

Instead, the Poles rejected the offer of the Soviets and began to participate in the division of Czechoslovakia, not thinking that the Nazis would come for their territories as well. Europe could have done away with fascism in its infancy, but instead they surrendered Austria, the Czech Republic and France to Germany, making it stronger. And the USSR fought fascism even before Europe stopped tolerating Hitler's antics. The USSR helped the legitimate Spanish authorities in their civil war against the fascists, the USSR helped China fight against the Japanese fascists. And he would have helped Europe to put an end to German fascism, if not for the pride of the Western rulers and their unwillingness to have any diplomatic ties with the USSR. It is quite natural that the USSR, as a political pariah, will have to deal with at least some country. This country was the Third Reich, a non-aggression pact was signed with it. This is better than nothing, because thanks to this pact, the USSR was able to defend itself not from the West, but at least from the East. Japan did not attack the USSR only because of this pact. It was not a German alliance with the USSR, because the USSR simply did not want to give up foreign policy, otherwise it would bring huge problems in the future

It is a fact that the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact contained the Secret Supplementary Protocol, which assumed the division of Poland and other Eastern European countries between the USSR and Germany. The agreement to create a new German-Soviet border in the middle of Poland, as well as to consign Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland to a “Soviet sphere of interest”, was part of the secret protocol. Thus, the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact directly caused the German and Soviet military aggression against Poland in September 1939, which resulted in its complete occupation by Germany and the USSR. Soviet ethnic cleansing of Eastern Poland and the Baltic states began immediately after the invasion with the arrest of hundreds of thousands of Poles and Balts and their deportation to concentration camps and settlements in the east. Russia weren’t angels at WW2 times but despite all that they were still the lesser evil compared to Hitler. How ironic though that Russia itself has now become the fascist state, throwing everything “western” out of their territory, considering russians living abroad as foreign agents, impose martial law and a politic of oppression against their own people just like the Nazis did, all symbolized with a new Z-wastiska. Being born in Poland and fighting communists in late 70’s through 80’s I used to be proud of my history, country and catholic upbringing. I still am. But I am ashamed of my leaders supporting the most corrupt nation in our hemisphere. Ukrainian Nazis murdered over 100,000 poles as well as pacified Warsaw Upraising under german leadership. @@ikiz7228 that's not relevant. Ukraine and Russia have both had their own sovereign countries with borders they both signed off on. Neither side is truly acting in good faith (NATO and Russia. Ukraine seems to just be caught up and suffering). But Russia are the aggressors here and thus must bear the brunt of what the world deems right and just. And yes USA was wrong in invading Iraq but that doesn't make this invasion anymore just or legitimate.

Мы забываем, что польское правительство "героически защищала" свои территориальные притензии к Чехословакии, после Мюнхенского сговора, зато страшный и тоталитарный Советский Союз хотел помочь Чехословакии, но поляки пошли на отказ. Такая же история и с Литвой, только там уже польское правительство наоборот, отстаивала литовский Вильнюс, полученный ещё со времён получения независимости. Но страшный и тоталитарный совок "оккупировал" западные территории Беларуси и Украины, потерянные в 20-ых годах. А ещё, не обижайтесь на то, чего не было. Советский Союз начал поход по польским территория аж 17 сентября, а не сразу с Рейхом. Когда меня там назвали "пани" - это было так приятно. На границе мы с девочками шутили над одним молодым симпатичным польским солдатом, думали, что он нас не понимает, но мы ошибались. Он внимательно прислушивался к тому, что мы говорили, а потом просто улыбнулся 😊 Почему мы не можем жить дружно?

Avoid reading to much into they every day conflict in Ukraine. That is just a gig.. a special military operation if you will, with around 500K. A big chunk is not even the russian army (wanger, chechens, DPR and LPR militia). If russia mobilize we are talking around 30 million strong force. Peace doesnt exist. Its a social construct. Waging war on each other is part of human nature. In a society where people live so cramped in big cities, conflict is unavoidable. Same goes for countries. In the end we are just animals controlled by instincts and the chemistry in our bodies.
