She's not in regular high school. Actually she's in musical high school. And she's taking opera singing class, piano class, flute class, etc. in her high school.

I have watched everything I can find on Putri including vlogs by her parents and interviews. Apart from 2 lessons in a classic piano course for which she found boring. She quit and decided to self teach herself. I cannot find anything or anywhere to say she had singing lessons. I have no doubt that Putri's hearing is way beyond anything we can muster. She must have a very high IQ as everything appears to come easy to her after a mountain of hard work. Should check out some of her vlogs on her page especially the one with Boy William, you will see she is also a crackpot, pranks and funny as hell. The perfect package.

Its just truly extraordinary. I often watch in shock. Its as if she has auto tune naturally. Her versatility in range with transitions is so perfect. There is a video on you tube. Of her recently finishing a performance on a award show and the MCs. Surprise her with a guest. They asked if she reckonizes the notes this person played on the piano. It was her very first vocal coach she had at 6 years old. She knew right away after he played a short warm up exercise.

This is the second time I heard this rendition by Putri. I didn't really like it the first time I heard it, and as I hadn't heard the original song, I couldn't really judge it. It is not an easy to listen song. But your analysis helped me appreciate Putri's brilliance more. As far as I know from Putri's interviews, Putri has never had any vocal or piano instruction. She's studying in a music high school where she's majoring in flutes. As you said, Putri is modest. Her teachers did not know her vocal prowess; she is not a member of the school choir, nor has Putri ever represented her school in any singing competition (probably because she's not majoring in vocals). Her flute teacher said that he was surprised when he found out that Putri had taken part in AGT after it went viral. As of now, Putri is in Oslo, Norway. Recording something in a music studio. Can't wait for the surprise.

I have to say that, as a song all by itself, it ain't great. It seems to have no real structure to it to grasp onto on any level. But Putri's voice does indeed imbue it with a sense of structure on another level, making it quite enjoyable.

I don't think that her parents had enough money to hire a voice coach. But then what do I know.
