Great video, I read on some comments that viltrox adapter 4/3 to M43 is better than this brand. But I believe both are the same.

LOL, we've been using legacy Four Thirds lenses on MFT cameras ever since the Panasonic GH1, but no one ever expected them to auto-focus as quickly as native MFT lenses, it's just not in the nature of the beast. But focus aside, it looks like you totally missed the absolute best feature of the Leicasonic 14-50mm f2.8-3.5: its built[-in molasses-smooth OIS. For video shooters, it's still the best OIS panning performance you can get, IBIS dual-IS2 not withstanding.

I just like the larger diameter of 4/3 lenses but hate losing autofocus when shooting video with them. Which m4/3 lenses have similar diameters for my large hands?

The sensor size is the same so the lenses were bigger not because they were on a bigger sensor, but probably because of engineering. The same lens, made a decade later, will be made more "efficiently" with less materials, better optics, etc. Also making use of lens correction in the camera means it didn't have to be so overbuilt.

My 14-50 Vario-Elmarit Leica (Pana) doesn't fit my OM D EM 1 Mk 2. My adapter is the Panasonic DMW-MA1 (equiv to Olympus MMF) : black viewfinder and screen. No trigger possible...Any idea to fix it ?

Hey - and what do you think about using the old 4/3 Olympus 9-18 on M4/3 Panasonic body with adapter? In video the AF wouldn't good enough and probably loud, right?

It would likely be as slow as mine to focus, but optically it should be fine.

Does the adapter affect infinity or close focusing?

It shouldn't- because the adapter takes up the space the mirror would take in a 4/3 camera, when adapting the 4/3 lens to a Micro 4/3 camera. Micro is only smaller because it lacks the mirror. They both have a 4/3 sensor.

That doesn't work because the MFT is designed to be closer to the lens, and the 4/3 has space for the mirror.

Wikipedia has the best explanation on the format, but essentially 4/3 is the sensor size and Micro 4/3 removes the mirror, making the body of the camera smaller, hence the "micro" part of the name.

The MFT are mirrorless and have a shorter focal point . Thus a thinner camera. The imagers themselves are same in both types.

yeah i mean the autofocus，how dose lens autofocus perform with the standard 4/3 on m43 body，I d"like to buy a old version of Leica 25mm 1.4 d for its good quality glass that better than the new 25mm DG one, but I'm not sure about how dose autofocus the standard 4/3 lens perform on today's new camera body...for video shooting

I am searching high and low for the opposite! I have a camera with the standard 4/3 and is wondering if there is adapters to fit micro 4/3 stuff on my camera?All I find is the other way oround. Adapters to fit standard 4/3ds on a new micro 4/3ds body. I am looking for extension tubes for my Olympus E410 but all extension I find has the new micro 4/3

M43 lenses are designed for a sensor closer to the lens. You can't use the lens if it's further away from the sensor That's why there's no conversion tools. It doesn't work.

You'd be looking for a "Macro" extender for 4/3. I know they are available for M43.

the M43 lens has smaller circle, so the vignetting will be profound on the full frame body. And the M43 lens aperture is controlled from the m43 body so the adapter must be smart to do that..a Dumb adapter can be done and there are m43 lenses like rokinon, samyang having manual aperture that can be useful. Depending on the demand, fotodiox engineers may be interested in doing that..www.fotodioxpro.com

The cameras are the models I state in the beginning. The 4/3 camera has a mirror. The Micro 4/3 does not. No FUD.
