Today I am laying plastic for cabbage. We use plastic in a lot of our vegetables.

I broadcast it before I lay the plastic I have put fertilizer through the drip too

We usually get enough rainfall for cabbage. We have very rarely irrigated cabbage

@@Mtnfarmer can you plant cover crops and clovers after spraying, nobody gives a definitive answer. I plant my garden then in the fall I plant for my cows. I need to spray for grass in my sweet corn.

What’s your temps up that way right now?

We have been in upper 80s and lower 90s lately. That is unusual and hot for us.

@@Mtnfarmer I was wondering with cabbage usually we start them in February right now we just ended about 10 days of triple digits. Not much can grow like that

If you leave the plastic to lose when digging the trench then it has a big possibility to come off and fly away

How does the water get though the plastic?

Usually we put irrigation line under the plastic. In this case I was planting cabbage and in my area we normally get enough rain that the planting hole will allow enough moisture for the plant. Thanks for watching
