HEY GUYS! Thanks for watching this how to freeze asparagus video. It's a great way to store food for later in the year when you want to eat some. Goes well in soups or as a side with dinner.

Do you put the date you store them on the bag as well? Our asparagus if $0.99/lb right now and I plan to buy about 10 lbs to eat and store. 🤗 I plan to grow some for the first time this spring.

That's awesome! I would love to grow asparagus if we could. Especially if you can make it right, it's so good! Oh, and yes we do put the date on the bag. :)

I started growing some from seed 3 years ago. The first two years you don't get to harvest, you leave them alone to establish the roots.

I think it’s a lot of waste to snap it like that half way through. I would just cut the ends and leave the rest to eat. You could put it in soups or blend it, even if it’s a bit harder. Let’s stop wasting food together 🤗

lol. Fair enough. We do have chickens, which helps us feel a little better about the produce/other food we throw out. Still, it does seem like a lot of the asparagus ends up getting tossed. Thanks for watching.

I agree with tossing them. They are hard and woody. I throw in my compost or boul in my stock then throw out. You fid it right!
