There's also a Chen Jiongmming path for Sichuan if he gets couped in Liangguang. If Sichuan is Federalist aligned then Chen gets couped he moves to form an exile government in Sichuan. I've played both and prefer the story of the Federalists in exile. It's more of an underdog story since Sichuan is dealing with a huge famine at the start of the game. To go from that to all of China feels a lot cooler.
