We settle cause we don't understand that we're missing the head, the foundation of the relationship, The Creator.

@Dee1music - I say this with love man: you're a great storyteller. I hear it in your music and sermons. Would love to see your storytelling mastery be more pronounced in your podcasts. I know it's tough to share your experiences without sharing too much of you personally, but it's YOU that's real and that we all really connect with.

Dee, I have to disagree with people being puzzle pieces when dealing with love. I think we all have a preferences, but love is fluid and so is our place in it. Being a puzzle piece keeps you rigid and most likely will have you miss a person that's meant to be in your life. I think people get love, marriage, and relationship mixed up. They try to put those three together, but they are three different entities. Love is a feeling-an ever evolving feeling. Marriage is a entity in which people DECIDE to go into a union/bond between two people. The relationship inside Marriage is the interaction between two people inside the Marriage. People can be married and not have a good relationship or be in love. And one of the biggest reasons people fall out of love in a marriage because they become too rigid. Love is fluid, people change over time as well as the things that are attractive to them. Puzzle pieces are rigid, marriage, relationships nor love is rigid.

I strongly and firmly believe that if we (Christians) are seeking a marriage partner without first putting in the effort to establish and cultivate our spiritual relationship with Christ Jesus, we are setting ourselves up for failure. We are limited in knowledge and understanding without proper guidance from the Holy Spirit. So when we are led by our flesh, we base our preferences/choices on what can be seen (physical qualities, behaviors, accomplishments, etc.) which are all temporal. However, when Spirit led we will be aligned with the purposes of Almighty God and who He wants us to be with in order to carry out His will/assignment(s). If we try to choose for ourselves, we can't begin to know if the person we "feel" is the right fit today based off our "checklist" will still be that right person for us 10 years from now. One of the reasons divorce rates are so high is because of all the illegitimate unions formed without solid confirmation from our Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient Creator, Almighty God 🤨
