I wanted some noise and heat insulation inside the cab and a practical and durable floor covering. In the spirit of the budget rat truck build, I use some materials I found in my shed - roof membrane and PVC Floor tiles!

''They can be best friends.'' What an interesting way out expressing compatibility. At a similar age as you, I too walk about my shop looking for non-typical materials that fit my needs. At only some 9000 miles between us, I would be more that happy to stop over to discuss your possible alternatives.

Great idea. Rubber floors are the way to go Carpet in trucks are for those city folk. I too live in the country and rubber is much easier to take care of. Truck looks great Div.

I’ve always thought that carpet was the wrong place to be in a car. I was skeptical at first but when you got to the end. I was pretty impressed nice work 👍💯

Great job on the floor man! You repurposed stuff from the shop in true rat rod fashion. I really like the metal trim with the tacks showing. Great detail!!!!!! So dude , are we going to get a final cost on this budget build? Maybe an estimate of hours spent? Very interesting , entertaining and educational project !
