To those that don’t know how quickly support for BFN was pulled. There is an almost complete new plant class leftover in the games files, the iceberg lettuce, that was supposed to be in the plants post launch character, to match with Wizard being the zombies.

I feel like for something to be a proper sequel, it should still have the original games title in the name. If the devs really wanted this game to be GW3, the name of the game would have been PVZGW3: battle for neighborville or something like that

BFN might have not been as bad if they actually finished some of the content, like the prize maps abilitys.

BFN doesn't have true variants... if BFN had Variants there would still be problems with its game play and balance and other features. Variants aren't everything, if your game is shit, Variants aren't going to help. (I'm not saying BFN is shit, but it's definitely not as good as Garden Warfare).

Curious if they'll either fix the wizard bug abuse or just make it so you're able to open your menu when your character is gone

I guess you would call BFN more of a spinoff of the Garden Warfare series rather than a sequel per se

I mean, gw1 and 2 were tps, multi-player only (if you dont count vs ai) So when you open bfn for the first time and its a fvckin 3 maps wide quest hunting, i think the gw3 title can't ever be owned by bfn. Change my mind Edit : also I forgot the most obvious fact, but it can't be gw3 if the game has more characters than customization (I'm talking about the alternate classes)

The game just feels so babyish and the fact they dont have the solo backyard and no spilt screen

I don’t think the upgrades can supplant the variants simply because of the leveling mechanics of GW. What I mean is that because every variant could level up independently it gave more perceived replay-ability. Also the legendary upgrades made it feel a lot more p2w than the variants ever would (we don’t talk about twilight chopper).

Is it Garden Warfare 3? No. Good lord no. However in technicality... it sort of is because in the files it's called GW3. Though i still don’t count it.

Gonna be honest it’s just not legendary upgrades that make them a variant in my opinion. All the upgrades can be used to make a variant. Like the flying tree, infinity galting, closeranged pirates, infinity mech’s and melee swarm classes. It’s crazy that nightcap as an assissian attack class can be turned into a dedidcated support revive class for being able to revive fast and gain buffs from each revive with lessen cooldowns on abilities.

to me bfn as a pvz shooter I would say it is the worst of the three but as a standalone shooter compared to other shooters of its kind I would put it on a higher level than something like overwatch but not higher than something like tf2

Ill admit im biased. I love GW2 and BFN in my mind is the reason why they stopped updating it. I prefer the timeline where all of the development put into BFN was put into GW2 instead.

What I hated about this game was the art style, that it wasn’t Garden Warfare 3 (no variants) and the changes like the abilities, new characters/deleted characters, the story, etc.

BFN is lowkey a masterpiece and couldve been way more if people didnt show it so much hate. It was never meant to be GW3 but just a game on its own. I hate that most of the community view it that way even when it literally has its own original title. Me personally I love this game a lot and wish we could've seen what would've happened.

I like the game. I play on console so it's easier to get lobbies. BFN could've been such a good game if EA didn't fumble the bag beyond belief. Bad realease timing, pulled the plug for no reason. Wish I lived in a time where this game was salvaged and updated more

Your reasoning for why this isn’t GW3 is stupid. Name changes happen constantly in sequels like Sonic & Knuckles which is the sequel to Sonic 3 while Sonic 4 is nothing like Sonic 3. This game brought over the game mechanics, the modes, and the characters but isn’t a sequel because it didn’t bring back the same methods of customization. This was made with hope that GW2 fans would jump over to this one as a replacement. I liked GW2 as well but face it. GW3 failed you must now move on from denial into whatever stage of grief comes next.

The problem with BFN is that its not even BFN fault it is because BFN is going to be the Flagship PVZ FPS game meaning GW2 will not get updated, only BFN causing people to despise it or mistake it as GW3. The game wouldve been fine if both BFN and GW2 are getting updated just like PvZ 2 and Heroes

BFN had potential with the ''team-up'' characters, like space cadet, but they just wasted it all, and now the game is just a sad mess.
