Kylie’s 1987 debut single “The Loco-motion” was re-produced in ’88 with the Hit Factory’s Stock Aitken and Waterman for this UK number 2 hit. It was also her biggest hit in the US peaking at no.3 and was number one in Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Japan and South Africa. The song was a cover of Little Eva’s American number one dancefloor sensation written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin and featured on the soundtrack for Arthur 2: On The Rocks starring Liza Minelli and Dudley Moore. Taken from “Kylie” her 7 x UK platinum debut album.

July 13th, 1987 Kylie Minogue released her cover of "Locomotion" as her debut single. 13 days later, I was born on July 26th, 1987. Kylie has been a pop star as long as I have been alive (Give or take 13 days) and I think that's pretty neat! Cheers to us for 36 years! 🥂

I remember going to the record store with my 11 year older sister, so she could buy this record. We danced to her records nightly. Definitely the best part of my childhood! Props to the older siblings still jamming with their younger siblings. 👍

Don't you mean copied, remade 60's music. 1st release 1962. 2nd release 1974, different artist. 3rd release 1988, yet another artist. It's not 80's music. It's 60's music done in 80's style. Big, big difference between the two.

This was the first song I remember hearing when I came to Canada. I was 5 years old and my Kindergarten teacher would play it a lot! She was the nicest teacher I ever had. I had horrible experiences with others after that, but she is the only one I allow time my head with now. She was a beautiful blonde woman just like Kylie here. Bless them both :)

Wow, I remember her song 'The Loco-Motion' back in 1988. Recall hearing it played on the juke box in a local Pizza Hut restaurant here in the States. She was around 20 years old at the time. Honestly I might have spent the 50 cents of my own money to hear it. Can't recall clearly. My teenage hormones clouded my memories at the time. She was just...... wow. Only 2 years older then me at the time. Which looking back made her remotely "attainable". Much to my embarrassment I didn't have a chance at all. She was just so pretty and petite. Every teenage boy's dream. Much love and respect for her

I remeber back in 1998, at the age of 8 years old. My mom picked me up in her arms and started dancing this song with me and singing looking in to my eyes and i was happy i was saying mom!! Lets doing it!! Ohhh good times!! I am 43 years old now in 2023,🥳🥳🥳❤️❤️❤️
