It's totally crazy how anyone who isn't an animator would NEVER EVER notice this, but it is so necessary

Yeah, for me it was 'I wanna learn how to animate'-and then had to learn on my own. It became frustrating too, because in the study of 2d animation...never animated on paper, which I feel hindered me a great deal. (It was in programs like Flash, though we did draw a lot on paper).

YellowCerberus18 going through the same. I'm attending seneca college for animation. and I feel rushed than I am learning about these basics which I feel it is important to know then handing in a bad quality assignment.

I noticed as well that there are many who 'swipe' work, as in I saw one in my class who pretty much copies from C.Cassandra (that comic artist, she's amazingly good-hence why I can see a bad imitation). Also swipes from movies like UP, or Disney's Atlantis, and many other things from Pinterest. It's so FRUSTRATING to see-because the lecturers turn a blind eye, and ignore it. They don't see that she isn't learning by swiping-it's not her voice. But the grades will get her over the hill, I guess. She's one of those people who likes grades, not artistic growth.

I dove headfirst into my copy of the Animator's Survival Kit to learn more about breakdowns when you put out your inbetweens demo. Glad to see you also did a breakdowns demo as well. I've been trying to include more breakdowns where I can in my own work. Doing so just brings so much more life into something. It's worth the effort. Thanks for the video Toniko!

Love this one of the best I have seen on the topic. I'm a 3D animator that struggles a lot with timing and spacing. So I started researching how it's done in 2D and that led me here. 😊 I really want to learn this and understand the timing charts, so I can use the info in them when I find them online or on books.

I mean, it's pretty clear that you know what you're talking about due to the fact that you can see exactly what kind of character each is from only a few seconds of animation. (Or at least get a pretty good image of how the character generally acts) For example, the Shakespearean reptile (crocodile?) seems to be exceedingly charismatic, and also very underhanded... And that was gleamed from his "acting" in tip no. 2 alone! I might have read his movements wrong, but that's what I see from it...
