These are the letters of Private First Class Roland Lee Bowser who was captured and made a prisoner of war near Unsan, North Korea, in November 1950. He was imprisoned in Camp #5 in North Korea, where he died of dysentery and untreated wounds. Attempts to locate his remains since the close of the war have been unsuccessful. He is still listed as Missing in Action (MIA). The letters were made available by PFC Bowser's sister Marjie Mahar.
