I moved back to the Gainesville area in 1988 from Ft. Lauderdale and there was NO Python issue when I left, but the fad of having these snakes was very popular back then. It makes me sick how people can ruin our natural resources over a fad, like Iguana's also. I know I am over protective of my State and I will not apologize for that, I am proud of it. I love critters of all kinds, I eat them too, but releasing non native animals, fish included just hurts our beautiful State and the species that have thrived here long before there was ever a human foot print on her soil...Thank You and the Python Cowboy for your part in keeping our natural resources, "natural"!

When their eyes turn blue that's called deep shed and then after a couple of days they will clear up and then they will do a complete shed. Mine go through that process about once a month. 👍

I was hoping you would get together with the Python Cowboy and you did exactly that! Don’t eat too much python meat. It’s high in mercury. The bigger the snake, the more mercury it will have in its flesh.

35 years ago I bred pythons in Iowa , and yes with proper nutrition and warmth they can grow at a phenomenal rate. And breed two years old . My largest clutch of Burmese python eggs was 118 . I am very happy when I see you guys get really cold weather and it rains iguanas… and I know my pythons would get chilled and get a respitory infection and without injections they’ll die . But seeing them in holes well I don’t think it’ll get them cold enuff to get sick . I wonder if a infared camera would pick up these warm snakes . We had a gator found in Iowa this year unsure if it survived the chilly water but I have seen gators in Colorado the wintered under ice with their noses just keeping a small hole to breath out of.

Florida here. I have a family of black racers in my hedges. They’re a good snake. Pretty sure they feast on anole lizards and frogs because I don’t see those much lately. Not venomous but they’ll bite you.

I remember growing up vacation down at Aunt's place her boyfriend would give us 5 dollars for every poison snake we could gather, come to find out he would sale them $15 to research groups. This was early 1990s. I would cook python and dumplings. If I had a chance fix one for some friends

On the pigme rattler Mr Rob. Lots of times they are juvenile black racers. The black Racer looks like a pigme rattler till it gets a little bigger. I’ve even seen them rattle their tales even with no rattle. Many years of evolution taught the juvenile black racers to act and look rattle snakes. Mother nature is wild.
